the judges chamber is what i heard them call it as we glided nearside.. draped in yellow glowing fat and aquatic sinew.. a network of colored light pulsing through pathways.. perhaps astrocyte.. still far alien beyond the knowledge of man.. is seated the king.. his kingdom largely obscured yet in affect amongst all the mineral kingdom and recognized.. neigh.. respected.. feared among acolytes.. the craftworkers and spinners pay.. the arachnid prince pays.. the lower shell collective pays.. the electrolysites pay.. the old whales, even in their immensity, pay... he sits under a ceiling of eyes.. a floor of a fine silken mineral sand long hoarded, some say, from before the sky fell.. it holds memories, pathways, abilities, leaderships, structures of a divinity covered over by the millennia.. he is their keeper.. and has not been chosen nor equipped lightly.. ages before the chthonic wheels uptook their spin.. he sat.. for the furtive waves on which mind and thought wander are not severed of the waves that move in the seas above him.. he moves in both.. and others beyond.. of which we know not.. his thoughts reach all in his kingdom.. mayhap disguise and wise filter.. though the great modulation moves through that vast artery unto the organ... way way down...
