Description
Standing in ashes I feel the world burn around me,
My decorated Death Mask upon my face.
Deep in Cassadaga the spirits speak.
They refuse the secrets of things to come.
The feel of soft skin disrupts my meditation,
your arms are upon me.
I turn, my face covered,
You ask
“Why do you commune and welcome death?”
“I wish to know the secrets of life.”
“You will in time.
Do not welcome the end so soon,
to know everything, is to know nothing.
Don't fill life's small page with text,
because to accept all is to refuse change and choice.
You would no longer be able top choose the the end of your story.
Never accept fate as your guide through life
you must accept and embrace choice.”
You reach up and remove my mask
and the ashes of the world reform,
like a phoenix's slow rise.
The world is full of chance,
and to accept fate in all things,
to know the end.
Is to accept it.
Cassadaga will wait.
The dead will always be there.
