646F6C6C "Doll" (PC)Warforged Artificer/Barbarian
Lawfull Neutral
After being purchased as a gaurd for 10 year old Muri by the Noble Nurek, Muri got excited about her new "Doll" thus did 646F6C6C adopt the name Doll. During a meeting with Nurek, Muri was kidnapped by an organization called The Unseen. The Unseen are using Muri to coerced Nurek into passing policies that will help them move with impunity. After this event, Doll was publicly decommissioned, and privately given a secret task: Rescue Muri. She is out to see her mission to fruition at any cost.
Doll is a reconnaissance model Warforged and thus is able to integrate into society fairly easily. She is able to disguise herself if needed and is able to mimic voices and speech patterns. Her usual speech pattern is very robotic, which doesn't cause people to bat an eye more so than her being a Warforged. She maintains the speech pattern to help differentiate her persona from that of her past to decrease the likelihood of her activity being tied back to Nurek. Tracking down Muri and keeping her safe is Doll's primary objective and heaven help anyone that would stand in her way.
Mannerisms: Will constantly tend to her dress, removing dirt, lint, and mending any tears.
Bond: Muri-Owner, Ward, and first friend. Nurek-True owner
Flaw: When things get desperate, she will engage in combat mode. Her eyes turn red and she gets focused on attacking to the detriment of defense.
Ideal: Protect Muri, and honor her gifts.
--Story thus far--
A paladin named Nadal had information that he was willing to give Doll on how to find The Unseen, however needed her to complete a task first: the location of a young girl that had been missing. Nadal had put together a small group and with them she set out on her mission. When she got to the tavern the girl was last seen in, her brazen personality got her into a small bar fight that ended in two dead patrons (compliments of one of her party members) before Nadal came in to intervene. It was revealed that the patrons were mercenaries hired to protect the girl they were with, who turned out to be the Princess of the region in disguise. With tensions deescalated, she was able to investigate the tavern and discovered a magickly hidden door in the wall. Upon Nadal solving the riddle that opened the door, they descended into the caves below the tavern. When they got to the bottom, the party found the girl they had been sent to find, as well as a map of the area. They were also able to subdue on of the captives for questioning. Due to the map, the party was able to avoid getting into any more fights as they escaped the caves back into town. Upon getting into town, Nadal whisked away the girl as well as one of the party members as an escort, and sent the main party to help out in the interrogation. During the interrogation, it was learned that the individual belonged to The Unseen, and the party found how single minded Doll was as she started shooting off the prisoners fingers to get him to talk. She continued to shoot the prisoner despite a clear and loud commotion coming from upstairs. The Unseen had created a riot of people upstairs and had sent in a group to assassinate the prisoner, which due to his recent injuries proved to be no problem. It was discovered that The Unseen were planning something that had to do with the Princess. The princess was friends with the girl we had been sent to rescue, and was where the original task had originated.
Nadal introduced us to the royal family and put us in charge of protecting the princess as were acquainted. This did not sit well with the princess, who didn't like being cooped up in the castle all the time. After a week of quiet watch and learning the lay of the land, the princess made her first get-away attempt. She pretended to sleep until Doll was in shut down mode, and the Tiefling monk Lilith passed out in a drunken stupor. It was discovered very quickly that she was escaping however, as the Doll came out of her suspended animation roughly 20 minutes later. Doll, the Tiefling Azazel, and the Genasi VV took after chasing down clues as to her whereabouts. They were able to deduce that she had gone to the workers quarters, and Doll secured the traveling robes that the princess used last time she went out, apparently how she got to the workers quarters from her chambers undiscovered. The party chased down and were able to subdue the princess, much to her dismay. Upon returning to the room, Doll returned her the traveling clothes she had confiscated and told her "Next time, don't get caught."
Nadal came the following day and sent Doll and Azazel out on a separate mission. There was a big ceremony coming up that the royal family would be part of, and the head of security and several of the guards went missing. Nadal sent the Doll and Azazel out to the outskirts of town where they met up with the Leonin Alandro. Members of The Unseen had been talking to the guards prior to their disappearance, and the party tracked them down to a small cavern near the mines. While in the cavern, a dragon/demon creature attacked the party. The party was able to subdue it, and afterwards found the bodies of the guards. Doll decapitated the creature and stuffed its head into a bag of holding, along with the badge identifying the head guardsman. They also found a note in Demonic that Azazel was able to read that eluded to a massive plan being executed at the ceremony. The party returned to the guards headquarters to deliver the news and note. The guard was skeptical until Doll placed the creatures head on his desk. Nadal turned up to the guards headquarters to deliver the news that VV and Lilith have lost the princess. Upon hearing this, Doll, Azazel and VV decide to head to the village where they first meet the princess. She was tracked to a shed where she had scooped up some school kids and hit them from The Unseen, when the party arrived. The party dispatched the Unseen and helped escort the kids and princess to the palace for safekeeping.
During the ceremony, Doll using magic and makeup switched places with the princess. The idea was to get kidnapped by The Unseen in place of the princess thus protecting the princess, plus Doll was in the best place to gather intel on The Unseen from within. During the ceremony, portals opened all over town and an army of imps and dragon/demons, including a massive undead dragon. The King transformed into a dragon and took the undead monstrosity off to the skies. The dragons using scent to hunt, quickly saw through the disguise of Doll and the princess was quickly captured and taken through a portal. The party fought hard, but against an army of that size, there was no hope of succeeding. At the end of the fight as the final portals faded, a voice rung out in Doll's head. "Help me. Help me Help me." The voice was Muri. Doll confronted Nadal, time was now urgent and she was done running errands.
Nadal gave Doll the intel that The Unseen was last seen with someone matching Muri's description in a town on the outskirts. Upon getting to the town, the party discovered that the town was troubled with missing livestock. Sensing a connecting, the party joined the guard for the night to see if they could find out what was going on. During the night, some of the sheep were captured by what appeared to be a dragon. When tracking down the dragon, they came upon a cave with two young albino dragons. When about to confront the dragons, a druid came out accompanied by a little girl. Upon seeing Muri, Doll dropped all pretense of persona, ran up to the girl dropped down and gave her a hug. She used her abilities to give Muri a device that could shield her. After interrogating the druid, albeit not as violently as with the prisoner, Doll decided to entrust Muri to the druid and dragons temporarily. From Muri and the druid, Doll discovered where The Unseen that captured Muri were hiding and set off. Fully loaded and not burdened by worry, the new side of Doll was about to be unleashed. Any who thought a Warforged built for espionage couldn't go to war was about to get a wake up call.
UPDATE:
The temporary hiatus of this campaign has become a permanent one as the DM has decided to take a break and then reset the campaign using new players. So unfortunately this characters story has come to an end.
Update 2:
Due to the way the Hiatus ended up, I have retconned Doll's past slightly to fit in with my replacement artificer: Cygie (www.deviantart.com/cloudff7str… ). I have given her over to the DM with an out for how to change her alignment/memories/goals as needed. When I gave her over to him, he apparently wrote up 6 pages of story just for what he is going to do with her, which I look forward to seeing, along with Cygie. While she may not be my PC anymore, her story will continue, so when his campaign starts up, I will update again.
