Description Tiefling
Gloom Stalker Ranger
Lawful Neutral
I grew up in a small hamlet on the outskirts of (City in campaign) city. While my demonic heritage was frowned upon, the number of Tiefling that lived in the city was enough to earn me no more than suspicious glances from most. Because of this, it was hard to make friends or fit into any group. When I got older, I met a Tiefling male named Inprobus who understood the pain that comes from growing up alone and we ended up getting married. After a couple of years we had a child, my daughter Desiderium. My husband was able to get a well paying job and started making more money so that our daughter could live a more lavish life than we had grown up with. Shortly after Desiderium turned five, a large machine broke into the house and began blasting away. In a panic, I froze as I watched my husband use our little girl as a meat shield against the machine, as it slayed both of them. My horror and shock caused me to freeze, and because of my inaction my precious daughter was slain at the hands of my husband. I sat alone in my house not eating or sleeping for many days just waiting for death. I eventually passed out, for how long I don't know. While I was out I had a dream. In this dream I was in a nice house sitting on a bed with my Desiderium, and she was asking for a bedtime story. I told her every story I could, fearing that when I ran out of stories that she would fade away once again. Eventually I ran out of stories and had no more to give. As I realized I was going to lose her again, I tucked her in and told her I loved her. The world around us began to grow dark until it was only us and the bed. She told me that she liked my stories and wanted to wait while I came up with some new ones. After she said this, I was yanked away and awoke in a clinic. I vowed to gather as many stories as I could for my daughter. Once I was well again, I went to what was left of my home and gathered the supplies I needed to set out for new stories. I gathered the amulet my daughter had gotten for her 5th birthday, and now carry that with me. I also keep a stuffed bear that was my daughters, and keep it with me always, making sure to repair any damage it takes while I'm out on the road.
Bond: My journal and stuffed bear are the only two possessions of mine that matter. Anything else can be replaced.
Flaw: I trust no one, and expect everyone to betray my trust.
Ideal: I'm a monster that destroys other monsters. I kill monsters to make the world a safer place, and to exorcise my own demons
Mannerism: I am constantly reading journals, listening to the tales of others, and writing down stories of my own in my journal.
