When you meet Umi, she doesn't give off "dark magic wielding" persona. Sunny and Naïve, she is the last of her clutch. She lived by pledging to help her patron spread his influence. As a child, she misunderstood the patron's intention and believes that the entity intends to protect everyone the way he protects her. She is on a pilgrimage across all the churches and cathedrals in the land where she will leave a magic pendant to "give off a protective ward." While she doesn't think is of good alignment, she is not opposed to use darkness as an ally, assuming she knows how to come out on top.
Umi prefers to to fight towards the front line, using her ability to hide in her shell as a way to distract enemies. Due to this, her magic is more crowd control than offensive, though she understands that sometimes combat cannot be avoided. She is always happy to help others, as long as they don't seem evil. The problem is because she is so naïve, she is easily fooled by those with a way with words.
Mannerisms: Often found in her sketchbook, a book full of random doodles, lists, memories, and other random tidbits she fills out seemingly at random.
Bond: Believes that her patron is out to help protect everyone and trusts in it's "good" intention.
Flaw: Naïve, strong belief that good always wins.
Ideal: Spread my patrons influence to protect as many people as possible.
