“Sunny?”
“Mhm?”
I slowly opened my eyes and turned to look at Terabyte. She was sitting up and crying, and when she spoke, her tone was one of panic.
“What happened Tera?”
He looks at me, almost like he was trying to find something, and then he takes a deep breath and then carefully pulls me into a tight hug. I still have no clue what is going on, but I hug her back. I could hear her crying and sniffling as she rested her head on my shoulder. I could feel her tears soaking into my fur.
“I love you.” Terabyte quietly whispers, still hugging me tightly.
“I love you too Tera, but can you please tell me what’s wrong? I can’t help you if I don’t know.” I whisper back.
“I had a nightmare.” His voice cracks. “You got hurt. Really really bad. There was blood everywhere.”
“Tera…”
What can I do about this? How can I help Tera? I’m not great with words, I can’t just make up some kind of inspirational speech, I can’t go back in time and fix this, I can’t are the memory of the dream go away, I can’t-
“Sunny. I can tell you’re starting to spiral. I don’t need words, just hugs are good.” Terabyte whispers to me.
“Thank you.” I whisper back, slightly tightening my hug. “Is this good?”
“Mmhm…” Tera hums in approval, and I can feel him nod slightly against my shoulder.
We stay like that, hugging and crying, for probably 10 minutes. Neither of us want to be the first to let go. We lie back down, but continue to hug.
“Are you going to be able to go back to sleep Tera?” I ask quietly. I’m worried.
“I don’t think so.” She whispers back. The nightmare might come back if I go to sleep.
I nod. “That makes sense… Should we just lay here?”
“Yeah… That sounds good right now.” Terabyte responds quietly.
