SkyWings may automatically take 8/10 on Flying without it counting towards the high-skill limit; SeaWings may automatically take an 8/10 on Swimming without it counting towards the high-skill limit).

(Write 2-3 sentences about each trait and how your character expresses it. You may add extra secrets/fears/dreams if you wish, but you must list at least one of each).

POSITIVE:

Alert > Azure is perceptive, which makes her quite an alert dragon. She'll see the little details in things.

Generous > Azure loves giving gifts. She doesn't know why, but it always feels good to see a dragon's face light up after receiving a gift. She'll give something of hers to a dragon who needs it more than her in a heartbeat.

Protective > Azure's incredibly protective, and prefers making sure that the dragons she cares about are definitely NOT going to get hurt in any situation (though she'll never accept protection herself. Hmm).

NEUTRAL:

Dramatic > Dramatics, dramatics. Being expressive is easy for Azure at the surface, yet it seems to be . . . amplified. She'll exaggerate her tone or words with active talons as she speaks. Whether it's obnoxious behavior or not is up to the dragon.

Proud > Azure is a dragon of pride. She's definitely pleased with her achievements, and sees herself as . . . well, a dragon with mistakes, but a dragon of accomplishments.

Independent > Azure is capable of doing most things by herself, and she'd like to keep it that way. However, the flipside to this trait is how far the dragon takes it. Sometimes, yet not all the time, Azure will get herself hurt in an attempt to maintain an air of independence.

NEGATIVE:

Stubborn > After the incident with Andricus, Azure's become incredibly stubborn. She won't let a dragon get away with doing anything rash (despite performing rash actions herself), and she'll gladly spend five hours trying to convince you of something, even if she's wrong.

Uncultured > Azure is terrible when it comes to plays, writings, and present events . . . bascially anything that'd give you respect for having good taste in, she lacks. Woops.

Irresponsible > Azure's an Alliance trainee, so she must have everything together, right? Welllllll . . . no, not really. Her room is probably an absolute mess, really, and she's probably cut herself she doesn't know how many times on a dagger or sword from holding it irresponsibly. She's working on it, though.

LIKES >>

Flowers
Rain
Ice sculptures (they're so beautiful!)
Stargazing (a nice pasttime she picked up from her mother)

DISLIKES >>

Monkeys (they're so gross, she claims)
Raw fish (too slimy)
Disrespect
Unprovoked violence

SECRETS:

She may or may not have privately got a dragon who was bullying her friend in a headlock at one point. Woops.

How easily she let her brother go that night. She says she put up a fight, but...

FEARS:

Azure has a terrible fear of drowning.

WISHES/DREAMS:

 To see her brother again

To become Master of The Shield someday

(If your OC is part of the Alliance or a student at the University, make sure you include how they got there! - They should have been recruited by an Alliance member that was impressed with their potential, or gotten a letter of recommendation from their Queen and then been accepted by the Council of Six).

Pre-Hatching
Vespa was a thin HiveWing, and the sister of Deathwatch. When she was younger, Vespa was as adventurous as can be, plagued by dreams of adventure and glory, so you can bet that she joined her brother when he started out. She was incredibly loyal to him, joining him on his raids and helping him escape. Due to her darker markings, Vespa had no problem hiding in the shadows, and she was quite the fighter as well, with plenty of tricks up her sleeve. So what if they were harming innocent dragons? Surely Deathwatch knew what he was doing. Besides, she was having fun on these adventures, even if it was illegal adventure . . . though Vespa did try not to harm dragons if she could help it.

  Then Miran came along.

Vespa didn't like the SandWing at first. She looked a bit too . . . ah, she couldn't describe it, but she didn't like her. She was even more dismayed when Deathwatch seemed to grow close to the SandWing, even promoting her to his first mate. How dare he? Didn't he care about her anymore? His own sister?

Vespa was furious, watching them fall head over heels for each other from afar. She wasn't important to her brother anymore. He only seemed to care about Miran. Curse that SandWing, taking her brother away from her.

Vespa's jealousy was a bit too much to handle for the young HiveWing, who was desperate to get her brother's attention back. What better way than to leave his crew? Surely he'd come crawling back, begging her to re-join him . . . right?

Vespa left him a letter before flying away in the night. She left in the note where she'd be going, which was a small village in the SandWing kingdom. She was sure she'd be able to get by there under a new identity. During her flight there, the dragoness couldn't help but smile. This would get Deathwatch for sure. He'd come back, and hopefully ditch that SandWing.

  This never happened, obviously.

Vespa lived out her life in the village by herself, waiting for the day when Deathwatch would show up, asking where she was, yet that never happened. A year passed, and Vespa felt herself start to lose hope in her plan. Deathwatch wasn't going to go after her, yet the dragoness was too proud to go back to him with her head hanging and an apology in her throat. She'd just have to move on from him.

And so Vespa tried to move on from her brother and start a new life in this . . . village. At first it was difficult for her, extremely difficult, and she often had moments where she would contemplate running back to her brother, pride be damned, yet the dragoness never went back to him. She was also extremely paranoid in the village, as she was plagued by her past and constantly wondered when a SandWing would come up to her home and arrest her, though it never came.

  That's when Vespa met Skipper.

Skipper was a kind SilkWing who helped Vespa out one day in the village. He had the kindest eyes and oh, Vespa fell head over heels for the SilkWing. It wasn't long until Skipper fell for her light-hearted jokes and newfound obsession with stargazing, too. Their romance was quick to surface, and it wasn't long after until Vespa found out she was with egg. She was surprised and, well, terrified, quietly telling Skipper one day as they were stargazing. Skipper was shocked and, on a whim, proposed to the dragoness. Vespa accepted with a breathless laugh, leaning into Skipper and murmuring that she supposed they'd do this together. Skipper laughed alongside her, whispering to her, "I guess so, love."

Baby Dragonet
Azure and Andricus hatched around the same time, though Azure hatched a few minutes before he did. Vespa and Skipper were ecstatic, and each parent named one dragonet. Azure was named by Vespa, and Andricus was named by Skipper. The two dragonets looked like the exact opposite of each other, aside from their eyes. They had the exact same eye color, though Azure swears that hers is brighter than his.
The two didn't do much as baby dragonets aside from being coddled by their parents, though Skipper and Vespa tell Azure all the time that she used to nom on Andricus's tail when they were younger. Azure laughs at this.

Dragonet >
Azure and Andricus were glued to each other's sides, as their mother said. They did absolutely everything together, and rarely ever argued- well, unless you count arguing as a joke. Azure was energetic when she was younger, usually spending her time outside trying to do a backflip in the air or hanging out with her friends. Andricus was the artist of the two, and often drew Azure pictures of herself that she still has today. He was a bit reclusive when he was younger, though Azure swears he was absolutely brilliant, often being regarded as the top of their class in school. Even so, he usually preferred staying inside over going outside with Azure, though Azure always found ways to drag her brother outside with her and have one of their "who can spit the farthest" competitions.

Despite Azure preferring to be outside exploring the desert and capturing small animals (she let them free each time, she promises), she was every bit as bright as her brother. Andricus may have been the top of their class, but even he had to insist that Azure gave him a run for his money (to which she'd puff out her chest proudly, making him laugh). Not only that, but their relationship with their parents was fantastic as well. Vespa and Skipper were both incredibly proud of their dragonets, and the entire family often went out for dinner to congratulate them both on an achievement of theirs. Azure definitely threw a rattlesnake she was supposed to eat at Andricus once while they were out and got in trouble for it, though she states that it was 100% worth it because he "squealed like a girl, Mom! Even you snickered!"

One day, an Alliance Member named Tetra visited the school that Azure and Andricus were attending. She was attending the school to speak to the students about peace and unity, but Azure wasn't sure since she wasn't fully listening. She was busy whispering jokes to Andricus, who repeatedly told her to be quiet, though his shoulders shook with suppressed laughter each time she told him one anyways. Eh, it was a victory in her book. Despite Azure's lack of fully paying attention, her talon still shot in the air alongside Andricus's when she asked questions . . . most of the time. Azure claims she asked a really difficult question that only Mr. Smarty Pants himself would know, so she didn't raise her talon for that one, but whatever, Andricus can stop looking smug now. Even so, she was still clambering over her brother to answer, much to Tetra's hidden amusement. After the presentation, Tetra whispered something to the teacher before leaving. The class was over, so the dragonets also left after her. As Azure and Andricus exited the room, Tetra caught their attention by asking the two if she could speak to them. Azure shrugged, saying she could and decided to listen to what she had to say. Tetra claimed she was impressed by their knowledge, and suggested recommending them to enroll in the University.

Azure didn't know what the University was, but Andricus did by the way his eyes lit up. The two accepted, and a few days after the presentation the two dragonets were heading for the University themselves. Their parents accompanied them on their flight.

When the four arrived, their parents gave them both hugs, saying once more how they were so incredibly proud of them. Vespa insisted that the two write to them, which Azure and Andricus promised to do. The siblings watched their parents fly away, before Azure immediately let out an excited squeal. "Did you SEE those gardens? Come on, Andricus! Let's go look at the flowers!"

Everything was going just fine for them. They were put in separate talons, but Azure told him that it was fine, they would be seeing each other a lot anyways. Andricus tried to believe in her words, giving her an attempt at a smile . . . they'd be alright, right?

  Maybe.

Azure began to grow . . . well, popular among her talon. She was friendly and helpful, always trying to treat dragons the way she'd want them to treat her. Her grades remained as magnificent as ever, and soon new dragons began to join the siblings in the Cafeteria. New dragons who talked to her constantly, exhanging grins and laughs among themselves . . . and Azure joined in with them. Andricus was taken aback by so many loud dragons, and didn't speak at all. Azure tried to pull him into the conversation, but they always talked about so many weird things . . . things the dragonet just couldn't relate to, so he remained quiet despite Azure's efforts.

It got to the point where Azure wasn't hanging out with him as much anymore. When he tried to suggest they, he didn't know, go to the lake and hang out, Azure usually smiled apologetically, claiming that she'd already made plans with her friends. Maybe next time, okay Andri?

Next time didn't come around very often.

Eventually, Andricus decided to stop joining Azure in the Cafeteria. She had her friends. She didn't need Andricus there anymore, so he sat in the corner by himself, picking absentmindedly at whatever he'd decided to eat. Azure looked at her brother from afar, confused, but then her friend said something really funny that made her laugh . . . yet her gaze never did leave her brother, who was sitting alone.

One day though, three dragonets approached Andricus. A SeaWing and two HiveWings. They sat next to him, quietly talking to him. Azure watched them interact, her brows furrowing. She knew one of those dragons! That SeaWing was the one who'd harassed her friend, wasn't it? She didn't want her brother talking to those kinds of dragons. The dragons you shouldn't mess around with. She waited for him to notice, for him to shoo them away, but he only perked up, a faint smile gracing his features. What were they saying to him?

Eventually, Andricus began to walk alongside them in the halls, chatting with a smile. He sat by them in classes, and even began to go to the gardens with them. The gardens! That was where Azure hung out with her Andri, not those troublemakers.

Finally, Azure had enough free time to confront her brother. She caught him in the halls, grabbing his arm and whispering to him, "Can we talk? Please?" At the time, the SeaWing was with him, and he shot her a nasty look before saying, "Andricus, who is this?"

Andricus looked between them, his expression blank. Azure's mouth nearly fell open in incredulity as she insisted, "Andri! I'm your sister? Now can we talk?"

  "No."

Azure stumbled backwards in disbelief, her eyes wide. "N-No? But Andri, this is important! I think you shouldn't-"

"Don't talk to me, Azure," Andricus replied shortly before walking away from her.

Azure watched her brother go, dumbfounded. "No?" She muttered, whirling away from him to head back to her group of friends. "Fine, then. He can just screw up. Didn't even listen to me . . ."

The two siblings didn't interact very often afterwards. Andricus deliberately avoided Azure in the halls, earning a glare from her, but Azure didn't know what to do. He wouldn't listen to her, so how could she confront him? She didn't know how to make him listen either . . .

Things didn't turn for the better, as Azure had hoped. Andricus only continued to hang out with those three dragonets, and soon she heard of the four getting in trouble. Andricus's reputation among his professors slowly began to drop, and so did his grades. Azure always watched from afar, wondering what she might've done to cause this . . . and why Andri was simply allowing it to happen.

This continued for a long while until Azure finally decided that she'd had enough. One late evening, Azure caught Andricus flying away from his friends and decided to pursue him. He slipped inside of the University, adjusting a satchel that was slung over his shoulder. Azure followed him with a determined glint in her eye. He turned around a corner, heading for the sleeping dorms, but Azure cut him off. "Can we talk?"

Andricus glared at her, but relented. He led her to his dorm, opening the door and shutting it after she entered. His room was a mess, and- were those . . . daggers? Azure surveyed the room with a look of dismay, her gaze lifting to her brother's face. He focused on the floor, gritting his teeth as Azure whispered, ". . .What is all this?"

"That's not important. What do you want to say to me, Azure?"

Azure explained everything that had been on her mind about him. She expressed her worries, hoping that Andricus would listen and perhaps take it to heart, but he only seemed to be growing angry. He turned away, telling her that he was leaving the University.

Azure's jaw dropped. "But why? You were so excited when we first came here- and now you're leaving it?"

"Yeah," Andricus said simply. "I'm failing. It'd be much better of me to leave before I disappoint good ol' Mom and Dad."

Azure tried to reason with her brother, following him as he tossed items into a satchel, but he ignored her pleas. He only began to grow angry, his claws scraping against the ground as she spoke again . . .

  "ENOUGH!"

A sharp pain blossomed in Azure's shoulder, making her stumble. She clutched her shoulder, biting back a gasp of pain as her talon grew wet with blood.

  Andricus hurt her.

  Her Andri hurt her.

Azure lay there, clutching her shoulder in disbelief as she looked up at her brother. His eyes were wide as he stepped backwards, examining his talon. The dragonet's eyes quickly grew cold as he turned away. "Get out, Azure."

"Andri . . ." Azure spoke quietly, feebly. Something pricked at her eyes as she tried to rise to her talons.

Andricus gave Azure one last glance before fastening his satchel, turning away and slipping out of his room. The door closed quietly as Azure was left alone, hot tears spilling down the dragoness's face.

  She let him go.

University life continued without her brother. Her friends all expressed sadness and concern for her, though for a while, Azure lost a bit of herself. She tried to smile and laugh with her friends, but it always felt hollow. Empty. She focused on her schoolwork, trying her best to keep her grades up so she could graduate for both her and her brother. It was the least she could do for him after letting him go.

Though the hardest part of it all would have to be when she wrote to her parents about it.

Her letter was long, detailing everything she wished she told her parents about earlier. At parts, the writing grew shaky, the paper littered with spots where tears landed. She sent the letter off, hoping and praying that her parents wouldn't be mad at her too much. She knew it was her fault already.

To her surprise, the letter wasn't as harsh as she'd expected. She received a scolding for letting him go off with those dragonets, but otherwise it was mostly comforting . . . and mournful. They reported that he hadn't come home, and were starting to worry about him. Azure sent back another letter, fully willing to admit that she was worried, too.

Young Adult
Eventually, the day came where Azure graduated from the University, and moved on to become an Alliance Member. Her parents flew to the Isle Mezzo for her graduation, and though Azure had hoped and prayed that Andricus would be there, he wasn't. It bothered her, but . . . she was doing this for him, too. She had to become an Alliance Member for the both of them. She had to do everything her brother said he couldn't do . . .

And maybe, just maybe, he'd notice and come back to her.
