Description
Before he was born, her mother was a naive 20-year-old girl, while her father, a 30-year-old man, was married with children. Her mother became pregnant by this man, but he completely disregarded the pregnancy, leaving her alone. With no other choice, she had to return to her hometown, abandoning her university studies. She quickly became the talk of the town while her family received her with disappointment as she was the first in the family to enter college. After Adrian's birth, his mother took care of him until he became a child. At that stage, debts began to arrive at her parents' home forcing her to put aside her role as a mother to work. Adrian's grandparents quickly assumed the role of "father figures" in the absence of his parents. It was different for little Adrian to see how his peers had their parents present while he only saw his mother on weekends and did not know who his father was, which made him jealous and led him to look down on his grandparents.
At the age of 10, he and his mother moved to Santiago.
For the first time they lived together with his mother, but then he realized that his mother was not the person he had idealized as a child. This generated several conflicts between the two and made their coexistence tense to this day.
When he moved from his mother's hometown to Santiago, it was difficult for him to adapt due to his "non-Santiago" customs. This was met with ridicule from his classmates, who made his life impossible because he was not from Santiago and because of his appearance. This developed in Adrian an inferiority complex, social anxiety, body dysmorphia and post-traumatic stress.
When he entered high school, he formed a group of friends that is still present today. In that group, he fell in love with a friend, although he never managed to confess his feelings because he felt inferior to her. Sometimes they came to remember this friend in Lucia as they both had similar personalities.
During the pandemic, his grandmother died of complications from Covid, an event that marked him deeply even though they had not been in contact with his grandparents for some time. At his grandmother's funeral, he spoke after years with his grandfather, who was still in shock. His mother and he decided to spend some time in his hometown to take care of him.
At the beginning of 2021, the two decided to return to Santiago when they noticed that he was showing signs of improvement.
