Knuckles had been captured by Eggman's robots and they tied him to a chair and locked him in a cell. He heard Eggman say, "Is the echidna secure?" One of his robots said, "Yes Doctor Eggman. The echidna is perfectly secure." Eggman said, "Excellent. Now we're gonna wait just the right moment for Sonic to come and when he does, I'll destroy him!" He laughed maniacally. Knuckles gasped. Just then, he heard another voice say, "Knuckles, are you there?" He looked up and saw Sonic. He gasped and said, "Sonic! What are you doing here?" Sonic said, "I'm gonna help you escape." Knuckles said, "No Sonic, you can't. It's a trap." Sonic said while untying Knuckles' mouthpiece, "Oh please. I can escape any traps." Knuckles said, "But Sonic-" Sonic said while untying the ropes, "Almost got it." Knuckles said, "Sonic." Sonic said, "There!" Just then, an alarm went off. Sonic and Knuckles heard Eggman say, "Sonic's here! After him!" Sonic said, "Uh oh, what are we going to do?" Knuckles then grabbed him. Sonic said, "Huh? Knuckles, what are you doing?" Knuckles said, "Hold on tight Sonic!" He spread out his wings and flew into the sky. Eggman's robots reached the cell but they can't see Sonic and Knuckles. One of them said, "Where did they go?" At the sky, Sonic said, "Whew, that was close." Knuckles said, "Hey Sonic, I thought you said you can escape any traps." Sonic chuckled embarrassly.
