Mae grew up in the the Realm Darkest, and has been known for going to neighboring worlds to learn exotic magics. She is very interested in learning as many different unique spells as she can.

When her father’s sector of the Rosewind organization captures Casper for multidimensional travel without a permit, she is curious about his world, as he claims that magic doesn’t exist there.

She takes the risk of helping him escape before they can wipe his memories, and has him show her the rift where he came through. Unfortunately, since the magical particles in his world are so low, she can’t re- open the portal once it closes behind them. She is stuck there. Casper gives her a place to stay, as it’s partially his fault she can’t go home.

Much to Mae’s annoyance, Fel, her younger sister also finds a rift into that world and follows her there, also getting herself stuck in the process.
