Description    A pale lioness emerged from the fallen tree, she looked around to see any empty area. She remembered hearing her brother that morning.
"Akura, wake up." the cub nudged his sister. "Aren't you gonna go get something for us to eat?"
The pale lioness didn't stir. She hadn't been feeling well since they started looking for a home.
He was silent for a moment before Akura heard his paw steps heading out of the tree.
"Where are you, Sen?" she asked herself. She walked around the tree, checking for her brother. Returning to the opening, she spotted the field mouse, she looked to the undergrowth and began to follow a stale scent.

The three had left the hollow, Dwala carried a shriveled clump of green stuff.
"That stuff stinks!" Sciath complained, scrunching up his nose after sniffing the clump for the fourth time.
"Then stop smelling it." Xeriah snickered.
   Dwala nodded in agreement.
The three continued their path, making their way toward the exit of the canyon. A rabbit ran past them with a small bundle of fur running after it. The pursuer crashed into Sciath's legs and fell backward onto his tail.
Xeriah looked at the small creature, a cub. She had a stern look, "Didn't your parents teach you to look where you're going?" she demanded. "We could've been hyenas, or even wolves."
The cub looked up at her, then to his paw- shifting them nervously.
Sciath looked at the cub, twisting his mouth into a half frown. He whispered something to Xeriah. And stepped back.
Xeriah brightened as she looked at the cub, she circled him for a moment, looking him over. "Where are your parents?" she asked.
The cub looked up at her. He remained silent.
Dwala stepped forward, lifting her chin, even through the stench of her baggage, she scented two more lions. She groaned slightly to get the others' attention. She looked at Sciath. He nodded. Dwala gestured with her head for him to follow her.
As the two set off to find the source of the scent, Sciath called back to Xeriah, "Keep an eye on him, we won't be long."

A brownish-gold lion was closing in on Akura, she had nowhere left to run. "Come on, kid." he sneered. "Don't make me chase you anymore. You're in my land after all."
"Get away from me!" Akura slashed out at the lion but missed.
"Ohhh, you're a fighter?" he lunged at Akura.
A force slammed into the lion, a pungent odor filling his lungs and causing him to gag and cough. Sciath ran to Akura, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." she gasped. "Where did you come from?"
"Nevermind that." he said and looked to where Dwala stood over the lion, her hackles raised and she was growling viciously. "Dwala, you were right." he snickered. "That poacher didn't even notice you with that crud in you mouth."
Dwala glanced back at Sciath and snorted. Returning her attention to the lion, she placed a paw on his head and pushed him to the ground. Her narrow eyes shone with fury.
"Alright, let's go Dwala." Sciath said. "Killing a lion in his own home isn't right."
   Dwala growled.
"Is this your home, too?" he looked at Akura.
"No. My brother and I were just- MY BROTHER!" Akura gasped. "What did you with him?" she demanded as she ran over to Dwala and the lion. "Where is my brother?"
   Dwala's ears twitched.
"I don't know what you're on about!" the lion growled from his position on the ground.
"My brother! It would be easy enough to get rid of a cub!" Akura growled. "Now, where is he?"
Dwala looked back at Sciath, he looked to her. "Your brother's a cub?" he asked.
"Yes. It's just me and him." Akura replied, not taking her eyes off the lion.
"We know where he is." Sciath told her.
Akura turned to Sciath, "You do?"
   Dwala grunted with a nod.
"Come on, let's get out of here." Sciath stared back the way they came.
Akura followed him. Dwala looked at the lion she held down, she clenched her jaws on the smelly clump that she carried- letting the juices fall into the lion's eyes before she walked away.
The lion writhed and screeched in pain as left him where he was.
