Description
A thin rabbit raced into a small tunnel, Akura skidded to a halt at the opening. She scratched at it with a paw as Xeriah padded up to her carrying a clump of moss. Akura looked at her, "tough time?"
Xeriah spat out the moss, "Yeah. Stupid squirrel.." she growled over her shoulder.
Akura sighed, unable to reach the rabbit, she stepped away from the tunnel. She spotted a row landing a dead branch above them. Her eyes widened, "No.."
Xeriah looked up to see the bird, "Akura... we have to get back to the others..." she whispered.
"R-right." Akura ducked down to the ground. "Lets go."
Xeriah slinked down to creep next to Akura as the two lionesses made their way back to the group, she began to smell the strong tang of herbs. Looking around, she spotted a bed of the smelly plants. "Akura, I'm going to grab some of those." she pointed with a tilt of her head over to the herbs, "Dwala might like to have some it."
"Wait..." Akura whispered.
Xeriah moved off to the spot where she seen the herbs, grabbing a mouthful of the tangy plant, she pulled hard. As she fell over, her sense of smell was clouded by the plants.
A sound on the other side of the plant bed alerted Xeriah of something creeping closer. She crept back to Akura, dropping the herbs, she looked back, "Akura," she whispered "there's something of there. Think you can check it out? My nose wont be any help right now... all i smell is that gunk.."
Akura crept up to where Xeriah had just been, she lunged into the bed of herbs. A few heartbeats later she reappeared with a rabbit. She trotted triumphantly back to Xeriah's side, "The tunnel lead out by the plants." she chided as she set the rabbit down. She suddenly perked her ears up, stiffening her body. "She turned in the direction of where they had left their companions, "I smell another lion." she said. "Sen... Sen!" she cried as she raced back to where her brother was possibly in danger.
"Akura." Xeriah called. "Akura, wait!" Xeriah growled as she pushed herself off to follow the young lioness.
