Even during the "glory years" of their relationship, things were not pretty. Rachel hasn't pushed 16 yet but she is mature beyond her years. It's a fast vs slow idealogical battle and a lot of friction built up throughout - leading to the apex ending up with them spliting. Both are correct but they couldn't find the balence.
