Description Love in a Tea Cup

A coffee break in a café.
A booth all the way in the corner.
A window to the outside world,
And a steaming mug in his hand.

Green Tea wafts up in tendrils to tickle his nose
and to make his eyes water,
although he does not notice.

A coffee break in a café.
A stool in the table next to some friends.
A really bad joke…
And nobody laughs.

The waiter is flirty
and asks, Excuse me, do your fries have enough cheese?
No, but you do, one friend giggles,
although she does not notice.

Blue eyes in the booth meet Green eyes on the stool.
The café melts away.
It is only them.

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

A dinner in a five-star restaurant.
A candle-lit table in the corner.
A brand-new haircut,
And a red carnation in his hand.

Blood makes his face burn with a blush,
and his palms are slippery with apprehension,
although he does not notice.

A dinner in a five-star restaurant.
A classy red dress.
A spritz of mango perfume,
And a prayer that fate works with her.

High-heels make her feel abnormally top-heavy,
and she almost trips over the front steps,
(but maybe it's only the nervousness in the pit of her stomach)
although she does not notice.

Longer fingers intertwine with ones topped with manicured nails.
The restaurant fades out of existence.
Only they remain.

For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings, that then I scorn to change my state with kings…

A penny fountain in the middle of a square.
A peaceful park that surrounds the whole thing.
A ring held fast in his desperate fingers,
And a wish that everything will be just perfect.

The flowing water provides no comfort,
and he is so dizzy he almost slips in,
(but he is fine; he threw a penny in for good measure first)
although he does not notice.

A penny fountain in the middle of a square.
A sundress that blows in the summer's breeze.
A curious question of a surprise meeting,
And a secret and silent hope of her heart about what is coming next.

The park is almost empty, save her and a few others,
and of course a young couple watching the sunset farther away on a swing,
although she does not notice.

Greetings of hello, Love pass between them.
He stoops to a lone knee.
She knows her answer before he asks it.

Till all the seas gone dry, my dear, and the rocks melt with the sun;
I will love thee still, my dear, while the sands of life shall run.

A wide aisle covered in pink petals.
A brand-new tuxedo and dream.
A creased paper of vows in his pocket,
And a chime of church bells ricocheting in his mind.

The best man reassures him, Everything will be fine,
and the priest smiles and nods as the organ starts to play,
although he does not notice.

A wide aisle covered in pink petals.
A beautiful dress fit for the perfect day.
A bouquet of assorted wild flowers,
And something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue…

Her father kisses her forehead and links arms,
and gives her away after the long walk,
although she does not notice.

Blue eyes meet Green eyes.
Everyone fades out of existence.
I do, my Love.

I can't, Sweetie.
Why not?
The last drop of the Love in the Tea Cup has been drank.
