This was part of a commission from Wooly Wonka Fibers for a Viking Knitwear collection. The design this illustrates was called Shieldmaiden, so the concept was for this to be a particularly ornate shield. The textures were adapted from the stitch patterns included in the designers original sketches. This illustration spawned the theme of the round "shield" illustrations throughout the rest of the collection.
