She's gone. Briarlight's gone.
First death in the Warriors series to make me openly weep since Silverstream and Honeyfern, but even those two don't have an element her death did: there was an entire chapter devoted to her dying and her vigil. The delivery of Brightlight's passing is just so poignant, so emotional, just...go read it for yourself, if you dare. Have a box of tissues ready or at least prepare the back of your sleeve, because the authors made damn sure that they made this one as sad as possible.
The queen of my heart is dead. Long live the queen.
