  SILVER FANG SOLDIER KINDUKO

Follow the untold legend of the Silver Fang bloodline down a road of deadly disputation...
Kinduko and Rea are two pups who just lost their mother to the fangs of Flaw, a tyrannical mastiff who rules his region with an iron paw and holds siege over many dogs who only joined the ranks of his pack for power. When it is revealed that Kinduko and Rea are the children of the late Yukimura, a son of the legendary bearhound Gin, Flaw orders to have the two pups executed in order to prevent any vengeful Ohu soldiers from taking revenge. However, Kinduko and Rea escape the territory and find themselves wandering the Japanese countryside and villages, struggling to survive. Along the way, they encounter Jiyu, a high-spirited yet foolish Shikoku Inu puppy who also happens to be the son of an Ohu soldier. Jiyu lets it be known that the dogs of Ohu have been disappearing under mysterious circumstances, his own parents included, and that humans from the city seem to be up to something suspicious. With the threat of Flaw and his pack as well as the strange occurrences going on in Futago Pass looming over their heads, Kinduko, Rea, and Jiyu must brave a perilous journey to Ohu in order to thwart Flaw's attempts of domination and rescue the captured dogs.

what the FUCK is up everybody

So I've got plans to do this ten-year comparison art project to see how much I improved, then I remembered I tried to draw a GHK manga waaaaaay back in the day, like 2009, and I remembered the covers I made for them, and I got inspired to make a different one :'D Not sure if I'll actually try to reboot a GHK manga, because I have loads and loads on my plate already, but if I do it'll probably just be something I do when I just feel like doodling. Between school, work, my volunteer job, my other projects, and just offline life in general, it'd be touch and go

Anyway, some things going on here nonetheless:

   I have enough blue-eyed protagonists, so I gave Kinduko brown eyes instead. Rea's always had them (aside from one or two throwaway animations I did when I was like eleven, they were green), but both siblings having them would make sense because Yukimura had brown eyes and it is likely their mother had them too. Plus, solidifies them as brother and sister a little more.
   I came up with the names "Kinduko" and "Caiu" when I was a kid, neither of them really mean anything, but I don't have the heart to change Kinduko's name after calling him that for 10+ years. Caiu...I don't know, I'd like to change his name, but the pronunciation is the same as "Calliou", which means "pebble" in French. Trust me, Caiu is a lot more tolerable than the Calliou you guys are likely thinking of. I might change his name, might not, don't know.
    Kishi would still appear as Kinduko's love interest and eventual mate, but I'd probably make changes to her as well. She'd likely appear in a later issue.
   Caiu had a mate once upon a time, but I'm not sure if I'll give him one now. Her name was Avaron and she was kind of a bitch, then I just forgot about her. I think Caiu likes being a bachelor and while he likes pups, he never considers fathering any himself. He's more of a "cool, funny honorary uncle" kind of guy.
   I'm personally sick to death of killer bear arcs and tyrant dog arcs, so I'm going to take liberties with Flaw's role in the story as well as the humans doing something with the wild dogs up in the mountains.

Like I said, not sure if this will become and a thing, but even if it does, it'll be pretty sporadic. Had fun drawing this thought, and I'm pretty proud of it!
