Description
This isn't the point itself, but I didn't get a good picture of the point. I wish I could have walked out on the point itself, but I had too good a chance of slipping and falling and getting injured or dead. Not worth it for a good picture of a bad camera.

I loved Kaena point. Not only was it a burial ground for the chiefs of Hawaii, it was also supposed to be the area that souls would go to. They would leap from the western most point of the island into the ocean, or spiritual world.

I love learning about culture, and when I saw the beauty of the place I wasn't suprised it was a spiritual area. The way the waves crashed against the land made it seem like no life could survive, but every pool held fish and crabs. We even saw a group of seals lounging in the pools connected to the ocean. If anyone wants to see one, let me know. They were very cute.
