Ruby Throated Hummingbird + Sage & Phlox(This one is my personal favorite. I love the big expressive eyes and the feathers)
This painting was made as a gift for my mother's birthday back in October 2019.
She LOVES gardening and feeding birds. She has a couple of hummingbird feeders, and she gets so excited seeing them fly outside her window. For her birthday, I bought a couple of plants/flowers that hummingbirds love. To go along with the seeds I bought her, I wanted to do a series of paintings to represent the flowers that will soon be growing in her garden, and the birds that might visit her. I chose some local hummingbirds and painted her new flowers surrounding them.
