The jerking motion took her a little to get used to but she managed to sway with the blows after a few failed attempts. Wood chips peppered her face, causing her to duck down, fumble with the zipper of the coat and pull it up like a make shift shield before her.

As the tree begins to fall she cringes, pressing her face hard to your chest until the tree hits the earth. Eyes, cracking open, she looks out of the 'V' in your coat. 'That's a good start, if we move it to make a square.' She points to the open field of snow to the right, 'We'll just need enough wood to make it the night.'

Struggling she wrapped her hands around the branch and heaved. With a crack, the limb split sending her flying back, depositing her unceremoniously on her back knocking the wind out of her.

Among the snow and growing darkness she all but becomes the snow herself. The only feature visible is her blue eyes that burn with a cold intensity.
Sighing contently she eases into the make shift seat you have created and relaxes.

Grasping the axe with both hands she tries to lift the oversized tool, fumbles, and has to set it back down. 'I have it.' She murmurers, shortening her grasp to be closer to the head of the axe, before winding up and making a swing at the tree. her efforts produce a small notch, as the blade thunks in to the bark and rebounds with little effect.
