Description
After the terror that was Middle School, I was beginning to welcome the idea of going to High School. I was reluctant to go, in case I would see HIM again. Fortunately, that was not the case. He is gone now. Out of my life.Besides the new people, there was a lot of new experiences for me to have. I would learn how stressful high school life could be, especially with me being in honors and advanced placement classes.
One day in particular stressed me beyond belief.
For the sake of privacy, I will not say the teachers name. It was time to turn in flash cards. She walked around and picked them up, a strained smile on her face.
She looked like the kind of person who was all nice and happy on the outside, but planning a homicide on the inside.
She finally reached me. She looked at me expectantly. I handed her the cards. She took the cards and placed them on her desk. Then she took mine, and began to walk towards the door. My friend and I watched her curiously
Then she did it. She threw them away, right in front of me. My jaw dropped in disbelief. If she couldn't accept them, that was fine! But I could have studied that!
Despite my trials and tribulations through the class, it was time to take the test. This test would determine if I could get college credit. No one thought that a 9th grader could get the credit, and to be frank, I didn't either. I tried my hardest and hoped for the best.
Now before I tell you the results, I need to explain how it is graded. As opposed to 1 through 100, it was 1 through 5. If you got a 3 or above, you would get college credit.
I wanted a 3 for two reasons. Number one, I could get the credit. Number two, I could actually go to the University of Georgia, the college I wanted to go to. I wanted to be a vet, and that was definitely the go-to school for that.
Finally, the results were in. I got a 3.
I was struck with dizziness, I was full of so much joy!
But I shook the feelings off. I knew that this was just the beginning of my high school career.
