Michelle sighed and looked at her closest friend Ansleigh. They were sucked into a pretty strange world and they had no idea how to react to all the vivid colors and varied shapes. “Well, we appear to be lost.” Michelle said. “Really? I never noticed.” Ansleigh retorted. They had been wandering in circles for hours. Finally Michelle noticed a shop. “Hey maybe someone in there will know where we should be going.” She looked at her friend and sighed to notice she wasn’t paying attention. Instead, she was looking at a small ravine with people in it, swimming. Michelle sighed once more. “Well… the store is right here so… if you want to go into there you can.” Ansleigh smiled. She jumped in happily. Michelle shook her head and walked inside. She jumped at the man’s appearance. He was a tall man with honey-brown hair, and red eyes. He was wearing what appeared to be a black trench-coat with a red borderline and three thick red stripes on each side around the bottom of the coat (Similar to Ingo and Emmett’s from Pokémon). He also wore dark gray pants black boots, and black gloves.Michelle forced a friendly smile and looked at his desk. It had what looked like cough drops, but it seemed more like candy. Ansleigh walked in at that moment and saw the man. She froze and didn’t say a word, her eyes the size of moons. Michelle ignored this and asked the man kindly “May I have a piece of that?” pointing to the candy. The man nodded and smiled. Michelle happily took a piece but Ansleigh seemed to be scared of the man for some reason. Michelle ignored this and happily ate it. She looked at Ansleigh. “Want a piece?” Ansleigh quickly shook her head no. Michelle shrugged. “Okay.” Michelle waved goodbye to the man and left, Ansleigh rushing after her. What they didn’t see was the man waving with a frown of sympathy on his face.
One day later, Michelle and Ansleigh returned. They had found a nice house nearby and got it for free; since they were both new students at a nearby school. They had also signed up for the military due to a strange new threat arising. Michelle motioned for Ansleigh to stay outside, knowing her fear of the man. Ansleigh willingly complied. Michelle walked inside. The man was there, and when he saw her, he instantly frowned and looked down. “What’s wrong?” Michelle asked. She knew he would most likely not respond, considering he didn’t talk to anyone. But suddenly, he spoke up. “I’m sorry.” Michelle gasped for two reasons. First off, he spoke! Secondly… she noticed he had fangs.
“What for?” Michelle asked, not really wanting an answer. “That candy… Was…Well… I will have to explain this in a different way. I am a vampire. My blood is poisonous to humans. Once they eat it, they will die in four days… Since you ate it, it looks like you only have three days left…” Michelle froze in shock. She was going to die. Out of a sudden instinct she hugged the man and began sobbing. The man pats her on the back. After she had calmed down, she tried to make it look like nothing had happened and she walked outside to see Ansleigh still there. Michelle faked a smile and said “Come on or we will be late for class.”
The day seemed to speed by. All Michelle could think about was her impending doom. They left to go to the military area, where they would practice for battle. The teacher showed off one of her rare smiles and said “Michelle. Please come forward.” Michelle did as the teacher asked. “You will be the commander of the army.” Michelle didn’t know whether to be sad or happy. She was going to die soon... She shouldn’t be the commander if she won’t even be here for battle! She was about to protest, but the school day ended. She left without saying a word.
The next day, Michelle left the military room again, ready to head home for the day, when the man appeared in front of her. Michelle looked up at him, her eyes void of all emotion. “Sir, can I ask you one more thing?” The man smiled a sad smile and nodded. “What is your name?” He paused a moment before answering. “I am Enioreh.” Michelle nodded before collapsing as weakness suddenly took her over. Enioreh caught her and carried her back to her home, but not before whispering “I’m sorry…But just remember that I…I love you.” That was the last thing Michelle heard as she let the pit of tiredness consume her.
Michelle woke up. Her last day. She looked outside. The clouds covered the sun, making everything look depressing . She glumly walked outside to finish her last day. Later, she reached her final class, which would, for once, extend to 10:45 pm. She worked hard the whole time until it was almost time to leave. With the teacher’s permission, she went to the front of the class and said, in a quiet and sad voice: “As of tomorrow, I will be retiring…And never coming back. Ansleigh will be your new commander.” With that, she fled for 15 minutes to a place she always wanted to go and visit; the giant clock tower, counting down to her doom: midnight.
She was surprised to see Ansleigh had followed her and Enioreh had appeared too. Ansleigh asked what was going on. Michelle asked for a few moments to calm down. They nodded. After thirty minutes to calm herself down, she spoke and explained everything in 29 minutes. She managed to pull it off. She explained everything and convinced Ansleigh not to hate Enioreh. One minute remained. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. The clock was at its final moments. Michelle…was at her final resting place.
She hugged her dear friend for 30 seconds, leaving 30 seconds left. Everything seemed to slow down as Michelle leaped forward and kissed Enioreh. She looked at her dear companions lovingly and said: “Do not weep for me. I will always be with you…In your heart. Ansleigh,” she said, looking at her best friend, “Protect this beautiful world for me. I know I can depend on you. And Enioreh?” Michelle turned to her other comrade,” In response to your confession…I love you too.” Then Michelle faded away, like morning dew.
Michelle awoke to see herself fading back. She then noticed Ansleigh and Enioreh had cried and hoped…somehow bringing her back to life! Michelle smiled at both of them. Ansleigh wiped the tears from her eyes and laughed. “Looks like I won’t have to be the commander after all, huh? Thank goodness!”
Days later, at the wedding, the sun shone brightly on the new lovers; Michelle and Enioreh. The maid of honor was none other than Ansleigh. When that line came, “You may kiss the bride.” Michelle, Enioreh, and Ansleigh couldn’t be happier. To add to the joy, Ansleigh found the love of her dreams as well. They had met in that ravine. And to think, they never would have found love…If they didn’t get lost.
