Description
Sunny grumbled as she walked inside her familiar 'home'. After the 'incident', she didn't exactly have a house... She had lived in the lab with her father.
Sunny grasped the necklace around her neck and sighed. Things may have been different if her mother hadn't... She was snapped out of her thoughts when Quincy, a lab assistant, spoke to her.
"Hey honey. How was school?"
Sunny smiled at him. "Things went well, Mr. Quincy."
Yeah... Bet you thought that was her father, huh?
"You know, Mr. Quincy, there are times when I wish you were my father..."
"Oh don't say that! I'll have you know your father loves you very much."
"Well, he has an interesting way of showing it... What with leaving me here for the last 10 years."
That's right. Her father had left on a 'business trip' and hadn't come back. Quincy took over as the father figure. Quincy sighed.
"Whatever you say, Sunny..."
He packed up his things, kissed her on the forehead, and left. Sunny watched him go sadly. She shook her head and put her things down.
Sunny had always been curious as to what her father had been working on... He said something about an 'Invert Core', or something like that. She looked cautiously at the door she checked everyday.
She always saw a strange circle-shaped doorway, but she still had no idea what it was... Sunny sighed and decided to check again, still having a feeling that nothing would be there.
Oh was she wrong.
When she opened the door to the dark lab, she was surprised by a bright light. After her eyes adjusted, she noticed that the circle doorway had a strange blue light in it.
'A portal?' Sunny thought to herself. She walked over to it, curiosity getting the better of her. She reached out and poked it, surprised that it felt cold to the touch. After she pulled back, her finger felt oddly warm.
'What in the world IS this thing...?'
She started to walk into it, but stopped herself. Sunny knew it was dangerous... She sighed and started to walk out.
"Ooph!"
She tripped. She fell backwards...
Into the portal.

Quincy sighed in relief the next day.
'Sunny is going to be so happy to hear the news!'
He walked inside her 'room'.
"Hey Sunny! Your dad is coming ho- Sunny? Sunny!"
After searching almost the entire lab, he froze.
'She couldn't have...?'
He ran into the portal room.
"Oh my God..."
He ran outside, leaving the red portal behind...
