Description
Sunny opened her eyes as she struggled to get up. She jumped back as the saw a strange rotating cube...floating there?
"What is this thing...?"
Once more, she reached out and touched it.
"Aaaaaaaargh?!"
A strange red light came from the blue cube and engulfed Sunny. She collapsed and gasped for air.
"Ugh... Make... It... STOP!"
A large black hole surrounded her, beginning to destroy the whole chamber she was in.
"Calm down. Your letting your powers control you. You control the power. Breathe slowly."
Sunny looked around, but couldn't find anyone. She finally listened and calmed herself, watching in awe as the black hole faded.
"Humph... Figures a coward like you would not be able to understand such power..."
Sunny twitched. "Well at least I show myself when talking to someone! So maybe you're the coward!"
The man appeared in white smoke. He had black angel wings. He growled. "I am really starting to not like you..."
Sunny smirked. "You're starting to not like me? Hate to break it to you, but I never liked you to begin with!"
He blinked at that before chuckling slightly. "Hey you ain't that bad after all, kid!"
"Heh... You're not that bad yourself. My name is Sunny."
"My name is Geresh. I am the guardian of this place."
"Ain't doing a good job, huh?"
"Sorry. I didn't expect you to be that stupid."
"Well, I assume this is the Invert Core?"
"Phwahahahahahahaha! You ARE stupid! It's called the Reverse Core!"
Sunny blushed in embarrassment.
"How was I supposed to know that?"
Geresh smirked. "Well, your father did invent it after all!"
Sunny froze. "Dad made this...?"
Geresh's smirk faded. "You... Didn't know that? This was the invention of Seton. That is your father, is it not?"
"It is... But... Why would he invent something like this...?"
Geresh frowned sympathetically. He reached over and touched her necklace. "Well... Ever since your mother died, he wanted to use his scientific knowledge to find a way to bring her back. So he invented this Reverse Core, full of the genetic information of many species that humans don't know about. You know how he discovered vampires and the like?"
"Yes...?"
"Well that info is in here. Not only that, but species of his own creation. One was meant to bring your mother back: the Crypt Fiend. It appears your DNA has been fused with that of a Crypt Fiend. You now have control over the dead. What's more, you may control people's shadows, and manipulate them to attack their owners."
"Will I be able to bring people back to life?"
Geresh shrugged. "That is what your father planned on, but you are the first Crypt Fiend that I have seen. I do not yet know of the extent of your power."
"Then how did you know that I could control the power?"
Geresh froze before answering. "You seemed like you were strong enough..."
There seemed to be more to it than that, but Sunny didn't want to push it. After all, he answered her questions.
Geresh sighed. "Come. The others will want to see you."
"There are others?"
"Yes. Many others. I am sure that they will want to see the first Crypt fiend."
"Were they once human, too?"
Geresh seemed to flinch at this. "... Perhaps. I do not know their full stories. And if I did, I would respect that and not tell anyone. Besides, wouldn't you be reluctant to talk about how you lost your humanity?"
"I guess you're right... Thank you for answering all my questions."
He smiled gently at Sunny. She smiled back.
Geresh picked her up and began to fly away, to these 'others'.
