Description
You stretched out in your bed and groaned.Today was another day of quests.
You got up to go to the Violet Citadel to say hello to Khadgar and see if he had a quest for you today, too.
Upon entering, however, only Modera greeted you.
"Oh, hello (name). Are you looking for Khadgar?"
"Yes. Have you seen him?"
"Yes, he went out to Suramar for a bit, but I sensed him teleport back home. I asked him how it went and he said he would go back. If you want to see him, I can teleport you close to his room. He seems to have put a spell on it, preventing me from teleporting you directly there. Just take the left or right and you'll go in a circle for a bit. On the seventh door either way, there is his room."
"Okay, thanks."
She nodded and a bright blue light surrounded you. You blinked, and it was over.
You went inside and followed her instructions.
You finally reached the door and knocked.
An unfamiliar raspy voice answered you.
"Put any messages under the door. I'll get back to you soon."
"Archmage? Is that you?"
"... (name)? What are you doing here?"
"I came to visit... is now not a good time?"
"Uh... well, not necessarily, it's just that I-"
He was interrupted by a weak gagging sound.
"I-I'm fine. Head to Suramar. I'm sure you can..."
He went silent.
Then you heard a thud from his room.
"... Khadgar? KHADGAR!"
You opened the door and found him on the ground, convulsing weakly.
You touched his forehead and flinched at the heat.
"Khadgar..."
It had been a few hours, and Khadgar had been awake for no more than 5 minutes.
"Archmage... are you okay?"
"I'm alright. I just got a little dizzy, that's all."
"You need to rest... forget Suramar for now."
"No, I need to-"
He froze and teleported away.
You wondered where he went for a moment, until you heard a horrible retching sound from what you could only assume was the bathroom.
You opened the door slowly and got on your knees next to him. You gently rubbed his back and waited for him to finish.
From within your chest, you heart lurched at the sight.
He was pale, and trembling.
His face was flushed, and his eyes were tired.
Once he was finished, you patted his shoulder.
"Hey, I'm going to go get some medicine, okay? Send a little spell my way if you need me. I'll be right back."
After a little while, he nodded.
Worry began to set in. He hadn't contacted you at all. While that should be relieving, another part of you wondered if he passed out, or maybe even d- no. He wouldn't.
You opened the door and was relieved to find Khadgar alive and awake. He winced as you shut the door.
"I'm sorry... you shouldn't have to do this for me-"
"Khadgar, please... I hate it when you do that."
He arched a brow at your comment, but took the medicine.
He waited for an explanation.
"You always do that, Khadgar... you apologize for things you can't control. And you always try to deny help! Please, let me pay you back after all the times you've helped me. When I was depressed and wanted to die, you saved me, you held me in your arms and showed me some magic tricks. You have always been an inspiration to me, Khadgar, and I wish you could see what a sweet man you really are, and how cute you look when you blush, and how your gorgeous eyes light up when you talk about books and sweets. I want you to see... you."
Khadgar was speechless.
You really hadn't meant to ramble on like that, but everything you said was true. You opened your arms out.
"Come on. Let me help you, for once."
He smiled shyly and allowed you to pull him closer. He rested his head on your chest, and before you knew it, he had fallen asleep.
You kissed his forehead and muttered one last thing to him before joining him.
"I love you, Khadgar."
