Five minutes. The mysterious circle has been there for five minutes. That is how long she counted. She doesn't know why its been there, she was about to swim up when a voice from deeper down the coral reef called out.
"Julie, No!" The young mermaid turned to a see her friend, exhausted from flapping her tail.
"What is it star?" she questioned curious.
"You know the rules, we cant go up there. You know how many times we got in trouble with the king..." Star huffed annoyed. Her friend has attempted so many times to see the surface, but because of her reckless attempts, the two have been in trouble many times...The younger Mermaid sighed.
"I know Starfish, but I wanna see what that is."
"Well you can't the King will flip his tail if he found out another Glide Fin is gone." A glide fin mermaid. That was what she was. Star was a Star-Tailed Mermaid, how she got her name was she was born under a shooting star rain.Julie and a few more were the last of her species, rare, but beautiful. Her Umbray Fin and many colours made her more rare then she thought, but that wasn't what made her the Treasure of the Cove. It was her pendant given by her deceased mother. She never knew what exactly it did. Julie stared at the ship until Star snapped her out of her thoughts. "Julie!"
"Huh?" Julie turned to star,who was further away now.
"Come ON! We gotta get the last of the Coral down to the town." And with that, she swam off. Julie followed, glancing back at the circle. Curiosity, of course like always, got the better of her, and started to swim to the boat...she got closer...and closer... She noticed how large the circle actually was, she peeked up and saw the edges shine, she swam around the strange structure. Still curious, she went under and saw a rope. She swam down along the line and stopped...she noticed the rope moving...Soon, before she had time to move, she got caught in a series of ropes. She gasped startled, and tried to get her sharp clam shell to cut the rope, she was struggling, but saw the surface nearing in, now she realised...
