Awesome work. Though, the markings on a black widow are on it's belly, no?
That would mean this spider's stomach is to us. o 3o

Haha, you caught that huh. I wanted to make the spider stick out, yet still deliver the message. So I just flipped the stomach.

Crude methods, good result. I like your imagination. Your techniques are a little clunky - I'm thinking I'm recognising some obvious brushwork, and the difference between stock/brushes/layers is fairly stark, but you've got the important part - a good mind.
Work on blending your layers more effectively under the same lighting conditions and a more unified colour palette, and keep up the nature of the content

Aye, ty for your criticism. Some of them are stock brush images, with 2 that are my own. Unfortunately, I am within a scanner. The techniques are a bit clunky, definitely agree with you there. I need to find the balance of getting the emotion with the technique. Usually pieces are rushed while the emotion or event are still happening. It's kind of a curse, when the emotion or the event are over, the inspiration is lost.
Keep them coming though, after all the artist is blind to his own faults
