Way of the Snake is a tale featuring the struggle to build the first Transcontinental Railroad. Chinese immigrants were the reason the western rails were completed. The Central Pacific Railroad employed approximately 15,000 men from 1864 to 1869--over 12,000 of them were Chinese immigrants. The cover art is a collage of my digital images. The rails are from a photo taken in Santa Cruz, CA. The track worker is from a picture of a bronze at the Hunter Museum in Chattanooga, TN. The pistol, a black powder reproduction of an 1847 Walker Colt, is a photo of one I own.
