Polypop the Unseelie, her heart a lonely tide.
For other fairy children, her lineage would shun,
Yet, in the mossy gardens, her laughter would be spun.

Her jokes so full of mirth, they'd make the willows weep,
In joyous, raucous laughter, their sorrow's hold to sweep.
One day, the fairy children, a curious sight did spy,
Figgy-toads, from Shadow Cast, their laughter reaching high.

Compelled to find the source of joy, the children followed near,
To mossy gardens, where they found Polypop's humor clear.
Enraptured by her jests, they laughed, and in their glee,
Transformed to fairy fire, bright embers they would be.

Their laughter gone, the fairy adults sought revenge to claim,
On Polypop the Unseelie, they held her to blame.
But creatures of the mossy realm, their loyalty displayed,
Protected her from vengeful hearts, her safety they'd persuade.

So Polypop, forevermore, with darkened beasts would dwell,
Her killing jokes for them alone, their laughter's somber knell.
In shadowed gardens, she'd reside, her only friends, the night,
A bittersweet existence, in the realm of fading light.
