I love the sense of purpose and colour within this beautiful artwork
The stars remind me of the ending of a poem, that I wrote a few years ago:
Something Worth SavingDays
remain the same
pushed and shoved
narrow corridors
are lined
with unwelcome faces
that don't ever smile
.....
Books
clasped to chest
finger-prints digging in
quick walk steps
a soft patter
lost in the echoes
of pointless chatter
....
Appearing
somewhat unreal
cardigan sleeves
hide signs of indentations
that have stopped
bleeding
but hurt still
when I flex
bruised muscles
...
Formulation
in specific events
show my days
broken up
into sections
defining
different circles
from hell
(discoursed words)
(pushes and pulls)
(trips that fall)
(anger that spreads)
(contempt-filled eyes)
(mouth's that always whisper)
(unkind words)
..
At the sound
of day's end bell
a quick escape
is all I need
to be in a place
far from anybody
where I can be me
under boughs of summer trees
long plastic wires
they dangle
holding aloft
my sense of creation
homemade hearts and stars
with faces that smi
