DA titles are too short for the full title of this thing, Manly Guys Doing Manly Things. Put this thang together for the Escapist's Webcomic contest. Didn't win, obviously, but I'm pleased to have come away with an honourable mention!Anyway, Commander Badass makes his triumphant debut. If I can get a webpage together, I'll try to make this a weekly deal.
Don't feel bad for the guy Kratos is waling on, he's gonna make a mint on the settlement.

Ahahha, I just designed him by cramming together every manly thing I could think of off the top of my head, stubble, side burns, missing teeth, cigars, leather jacket, blue jeans, cleft chin, goggles, broken nose, body hair, then like... weeks later I was looking at Jack and thinking like "HUH.... SO I GUESS OTHER PEOPLE FIGURED THAT WAS A GOOD WAY TO PUT A CHARACTER TOGETHER TOO..."

Oddly enough, Jack of Madworld reminds me of Hellboy, since he's in black and white and has a metal arm, the googles kinda look like horns! XD

Only one thing that drives me nuts, and you're not the only person to do it, so it might just be me...
"Yanno" is a name.
"Y'know" is the contraction of "you know".

I frequently write things out phonetically the way I imagine them being pronounced to show accents or speaking mannerisms or what have you. "Y'know" and "Yanno" have different vocal inclinations in my head.

I guess it would sound more Northern that way... down here in the Dirty Dirty South, it's phonetically more of a "yuNO" sound.

This and the other three Manly Guys strips are absolute gems. It was splendid to see your comic appear in the Honourable Mentions section; to be honest, I'm still somewhat bemused that it didn't win outright (and examining the forums, I see I'm far from being alone in my bemusement). The artwork's brilliant, the gags are *really* funny and the whole premise of the thing is splendidly original and different, which makes me wonder quite what the judges were thinking when they awarded the prize to what is, essentially, Penny Arcade But With A Girl. No accounting for taste, is there?
