If you would like to support me, you can check out my Patreon !Hello everyone, it's been a while.
So I had a few hours of free time and decided I'd do some studying. Recently I've had a lot of really huge projects that have me painting characters from farther away. What I've been doing is basically detailed portraits of them in a separate Photoshop file, then really just dragging and dropping them into the main painting. But honestly, that isn't very viable for two reasons:
1. It takes a reaaaaaaaaaally long time
2. The characters have way too detailed faces compared to the rest of their bodies, and that detail gets lost in the pixel noise that happens when you drop the smaller painting into the bigger one. It's quite jarring.
Things from farther away always look better when they're big complete shapes, not sequences of really small ones that get muddy and noisy. So I tried practicing that here. Not a very realistic approach, but I'm trying to start somewhere.
Take care, and stay safe!
