Description
There are many things in life I do not understand
Everyday I feel the pressures and expectations of life
pulling me down
Making me something I'm not
I know that if I smile and play along
They will accept me, treat me with respect
Grant me a living
A shallow, weary existence, fraught with the demands of
others
And if I continue on this road, I may as well not have lived
My soul has already died; it only waits for my body to
follow
This is who I have become, an empty shell, a meaningless
life
But when I look back, it is not my reflection that I see
It is the image of someone I never knew
A portrait I never painted, never dreamed
It is the picture that the world paints for me
It is time I took back my life
And it is time I saw who I was meant to be
