1) Why would that prevent him from dating Grell? I think Grell would love to be abused in all senses of the word.
2) Yana says William is Grell's true love, so there's no doubt about Grell's sincere feelings for his boss. It's more the other way around.
3) Why would something fanmade make you think less canony of them?
