I posted a paragraph or two about Paper Mario Sticker Star on Tumblr, so i'll just copypaste it here:

I recently finished Paper Mario Sticker Star and wanted to draw a Wiggler. It was an interesting 3DS jaunt, especially considering how divided people seem to be about it, but I wanna take this opportunity to throw in my two cents as well:

I’m honestly on the negative side of things as far as Sticker Star goes. It had a few memorable and enjoyable moments, it did a bunch of interesting experimentation, the audio and visuals are top notch for the 3DS, and i’m even putting that ahead of the pretty pretty Kid Icarus Uprising. Unfortunately as shiny and sparkly as Sticker Star was, I was feeling frustrated, annoyed, lost, and uninterested, feelings I should not have for a Paper Mario game. There were times where I laughed at little quips made, designs for some of the enemies, the area you find the Goat thing, and even the world 3 and 4 bosses felt really fun, but a handful of little interesting things wasn’t enough to make up for the annoying gimmicks, inconsistent difficulty, bosses you can’t really defeat without having a specific thing, and the two-bit Kersti even blurting out “I can’t say that was very fun…”.

It’s not really an awful, instant-return-to-store game, mind you. I went in only hoping it’d be better than Super Paper Mario, and in the end it was to me, but even so that’s not saying much. You’re gonna have mixed feelings about this latest installment of the series, but I don’t feel like you can tell a person to love it or hate it. Let people find out if they enjoy this experimental approach or not. Me? I think I might revisit The Thousand Year Door again. Unsure if I wanna take in the story again or just speed run it, haha.
