HI so the Pokemon World Championships sure were a thing huh? Did you see that rodent thing destroying dragons, because I sure did. Personally I was hoping for Elekid, but i’m dumb.
Pachirisu already seems to be encouraging people to play with their favourites, and I am all for that, but unfortunately not every Pokemon will be as lucky as, or have it as easy as Pachirisu. Pachi worked because it just so happened to be a great counter to the average doubles fare. It’s gonna have much less chance now that people know what it can do.
The takeaway from this year’s championships should be the fact that there are way more strategies out there that you can try, and I hope Pachirisu winning encourages more experimental movesets, and more out-of-the-box ideas is all. It’s hard to say that about a game with it’s competitive bar seemingly defined by Mega Kangaskhan, Tyranitar, Rotoms, and so on, but it’s always worth a shot. I mean, Delibird might not have a chance, but there’s gotta be others!
Sorry, i’ll be quiet, but now i’m raising a Pachirisu for my electric teams. Let’s see what else this bulky rodent can do.

My bro plays kind of like the Pachi trainer; he hates all the cookie cutter strategies, so he tries to find the best team to counter whatever is currently popular. If you're playing competitively at all, you want to at least TRY to win, so even if you're more carefree and choose Pokemon you like, you tend to at least have an anchor or hover towards stronger favorites. It's nice when a Pokemon you like turns out to be useful, but on the other hand, there's been plenty of times where I found something I liked only to find out it's overused.
