Name: Lydia Aurelius
Gender: Female
Pokémon Species: Arcanine
Birthday: Jan 10 1998
Height: 5 ft 2 in
Weight: 120 lbs
Personality:
Lydia has an optimistic and friendly demeanour, allowing her to get along with others better than her older brother. She is also very trusting, which makes it very easy for her to be taken advantage of. When she is called out for being gullible, she will refuse to admit it, saying something along the lines of "It's just a simple favor." This signifies that she is somewhat stubborn on some matters. When she is in a battle, she keeps her act together, but if she makes you angry, she'll most likely be cowering behind a nearby piece of furniture. Not to mention she's also a bit of a crybaby...
Lydia is very curious about affairs she is not involved in. Her curiosity will often get her in trouble. She is also very modest, unlike her older brother, not thinking much of her own skill or technique.
History:
Lydia was the middle sibling of the Aurelius children, and the only female among the children. She inherited magical prowess from her mother, Aika, while her older brother, Zackus, recieved physical strength from their father, Iago. The youngest sibling, Lowe, recieved satisfactory skill in both areas.
Lydia's magic started changing when Zackus had been threatened and betrayed many times when travelling away from home for small tasks during his adolescent years. His mood had obviously changed for the worse. Lydia had attempted countless times to cheer her brother up, but all that she accomplished was making her own mood worse for the day. Being constantly annoyed by Zackus's negative attitude had made Lydia's magic progressively shadier. It only took a few weeks for Aika to notice that Lydia's magic was darkening. Neither Lydia nor her older brother knew what was happening. All they knew was that something was happening.
When Zackus had left to go join the band of mercenaries, Lydia began sneaking out on her own to study the art of dark magic with a dark mage, named Diocletian, who had ties with a group of assassins, thieves, and spies, known in that area as the Revenants. Lydia did not feel too good about learning magic from who she assumed to be a criminal, but there was no other choice that she could think of to learn her type of magic. This practice continued for a month and a half, until her shady teacher had suddenly disappeared, leaving behind no trace save for a Fire Stone and a note. The note said: "To improve your talent."
When the brigands had attacked her home village, she had escaped without a word of goodbye to her family. She didn't want to see what was left after the attacks. She did not know that her mother had died in the battle, at least not until Zackus had informed her when she found him about seven and a half months later. This news traumatized her, and when she broke down crying, Zackus was confused about her reaction. It was as if she didn't know for seven and a half months. (ALMOST.) When Lydia was finished crying, she asked Zackus if she could travel with him.
The first few weeks seemed calm and uneventful, until one time in the arena. A stray arrow pierced Lydia's eye. She heard screaming and crying, and was (probably) crying herself. The pain of the arrow wasn't nearly as damaging as the pain of seeing her brother in such a state. It took a month for her to recover from the arrow incident.
When that month was over with, she overheard her brother talking to someone about a place called Yarelts. She tagged along in the travel, afraid that her brother was going to abandon her. When Zackus was nearly killed and the travel had to rush to the nearest town, Lydia stayed in a close-by temple to further her magic skills for a few months. When that period was over, she continued looking for her brother.
Hobbies: Travelling, reading, sewing, playing chess.
House: Nympha
This was the house of the emotional scholar, so Lydia chose this house because that was where she believed she could continue her studies the most efficiently.
Weapon: A Mage's Best Friend
It's pretty much her old staff, but she started calling it something else because she didn't like the undertones the previous name held. It's hers, anyways, so she can do that. Either way, it was specially made for her as a gift (and a memento) from her late mother, and it holds a lot of sentimental value to her.
Umbran Arcanis
Lydia's recent scholarly escapades had led her to writing her own magic tome. While it's nowhere near complete, she's able to channel an acceptable amount of magic through it and weave her shadow sorcery in her own way, either to back up her friends or defend herself from her foes.
Class/SubClass: Shadow / Dark Mage
Lydia originally was a regular spellcaster, but Zackus's negativity during his adolescent and teenage years turned her magic dark. Lydia doesn't blame her older brother, saying that it was "what fate wanted."
Extras/Fun Facts:
She can't cook worth anything. Seriously, she'll burn water. It's mainly because she has a terrible habit of leaving things unattended for hours on end. somebody help the good girl
She is very sensitive about her necklace. She will get defensive and probably will "accidentally" stab you with one of her shadow needles if you try to take it from her.
Her magic takes two forms: a dark gray, translucent fluid, or a hardened material similar to that of obsidian. When she doesn't need to use her magic anymore, it'll simply dissipate without a trace.
Lydia is mostly right-handed, and has a blood type of O-negative, like her brother.
