Gainesville, Florida is a college town that has a terrible problem with feral cats. Students are often irresponsible pet owners, and many cats find themselves abandoned when the semester ends.

There is a feral cat colony near my apartment where I found this cat. She was not very shy, indicating that she was likely someone's pet in her past. Perhaps I'll be able to help her more in the future, but for now the best I can do is get the message out. Don't adopt a cat unless you are ready to love them for their entire life, and do not release your pets to the wild!
