Description Aurhìm Time Units

NOTE: All dates marked here must be done so in the following, precise manner:

—If “AY” comes after the year number, then the date in question refers to a date in Aurhìm, recorded in the Aurhìmine time-scale.

—If “A” comes before a year number, then that number is an amount of Aurhìm years.

—If “E” comes before a year number, then that number is an amount of Earth years. E.g., “E5 years later” means that 5 earth years have passed. (In this case E5 ≈ A6.7652)

The standard Aurhìmine calendar has 360 A-days distributed as six 5-week-long months plus six 10-day “inter-month weeks” (or “interweeks”, for short).

1 A-year = 6 A-months + 6 A-weeks = 36 A-weeks = 360 A-days
1 A-month = 5 A-weeks = 50 A-days
1 twennit = 2 A-weeks = 20 A-days
1 A-week = 10 A-days
1 A-day = 10 A-hours
1 A-hour = 2 modes = 4 quarters / half-modes = 100 A-minutes  (Note: the phrase "half-hour" is rarely used in Aurhìm)
1 A minute = 100 A-seconds

As a consequence of centuries of Dahrian hegemony, most cultures on the continent of Faern (and some on Seterras) adhere to the following weekly work schedule

Days 1, 2, and 3 are work-days.
Day 4 (often called "Midweek") is a day of rest.
Days 5, 6, 7, and 8 are work-days.
Days 9 and 10 (often called "the Weekend") are days of rest.

Aurhìm/Earth Time-Conversion Formulae

1 A-year ≈ 1.1415525 E-years // 0.876 A-years ≈ 1 E-year
1 A-month ≈ 8.275 E-weeks ≈ 57.925 E-days
2 A-months + 1 interweek ≈ 139.008 E-days ≈ 19 & 6/7 E-weeks ≈ 5 E-months (minus one E-day)
1 twennit ≈ 3.31 E-weeks ≈ 23.1678 E-days
1 A-week ≈ 1.655 E-weeks ≈ 11.584 E-days
1 A-day = 1 E-day + 3 E-hours + 47 E-minutes + 48 & (36/73) E-seconds ≈ 1.1584 E-days ≈ 27.7968 E-hours
1 A-hour  = 2 E-hours + 46 E-minutes + 48 & (36/73) E-seconds ≈ 2.78 E-hours
1 “mode” = 1 E-hour + 23 E-minutes + 24 & (18/73) E-seconds ≈ 1.39 E-hours
1 "quarter" / "half-mode" = 41 minutes + 42 & (9/73) E-seconds ≈ 41.7 E-minutes
1 A-minute = 1 E-minute + 40 & (31/365) E-seconds ≈ 1.668 E-minutes  ≈ 100.085 E-seconds
1 A-second = 1 & (31/36500) E-seconds ≈ 1 + 8.49x10^(-4) E-seconds

Months and Seasons

The Standard Dahrian Calendar identifies six distinct seasons, each of with corresponds to one of the six calendar months.

Blossom / Spring (Spring Season), Summertide (Estival season), Yochren (Serotinal season), Wibbernil / Wibber / Winter (Winter Season), and Elvernon (Pre-Vernal season).

— Interweek #2: Greening (10 Days)

— Month #2: Month Summertide / Month Summer

• Weeks 1 & 2 (First Twennit of Summertide)
• Week 3 (Midden of Summertide)
• Weeks 4 & 5 (Second Twennit of Summertide)
