Growing up Zelda has always been one of my favorite things, and was probably my first real fandom. Every once in awhile I'll come back to it and find myself quickly enchanted by it all over again. Some people have made their own fan-Zelda stories like Heroes' Requiem as an example, and I've been inspired to create my own.

This is Dual Legacy, my own Zelda story.

It will take place in the child timeline a few centuries after Four Swords Adventures, and will follow a Link and Zelda that are twins. A pretty rare phenomenon with the Spirit of the Hero and the Blood of the Goddess.

Don't worry Zelink fans, this just means a Link and Zelda became canon for this to happen, though these two here are not a romantic pairing, that's disgusting.

It will also feature a few nods and even direct continuations to some of the games, such as Skyward Sword, the Four Swords games, Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and especially Majora's Mask. As you might have been able to tell from a certain item in the drawing. Also some Wind Waker but since it didn't actually occur in this timeline, they're nothing more than small references.

The story will be split into three arcs.
"Child" which will follow some simple adventures Link and Zelda have in their childhood.
"Downfall" where the story starts to go dark, and the children are separated and have to go into hiding as a Sheikah boy named Sheik, and a girl named Aryll.
And then "Adult" which is the grand finale and of course features a now grown up Link and Zelda as they fight to regain what was lost.

So yeah, I'll be working on this for awhile~ And so far I'm already in love with it.
To elaborate on some details, the background behind Adult Link and Zelda is a stained glass window from Wind Waker, that I've used for this because I needed a gorgeous background behind them that would be found in a castle.
Sheik is wearing a coat and at some I will draw him again from the front to show what the rest of his outfit looks like.
And the fairy with them is named Fiore, she is Link's fairy companion here.

The base I used this for is no longer up, and had it saved by sheer luck. I actually asked the original creator for permission to upload the drawing anyway, and they agreed, but asked they remain anonymous.
