"He looks like a girl." - My motherSo I wanted to draw Nishiki as a human just in case a human form was needed, so I made one. This is a pretty modern design sadly for those who wanted a more fantasy oriented one, but I can definitely say in a fantasy setting he would probably have a kimono, if an altered one, with the same kind of design as the coat he's wearing.
XD Nishiki doesn't really like shoes or pants, so he wears a dress, but if he had to wear shoes he would wear some sandals. He will bundle up when it gets cold though. Koi Fish don't really like the cold. Though he doesn't like it to be very hot either.
So why is he blushing?
XD Long story short, and I ended up coming with the running joke in our conversations that their character Rove would constantly tease and flirt with the poor guy because his reactions would be hilarious. Think this for example;

This merman isn't smooth at all.
XD So I said; "I wanna draw a human form Nishiki at some point, and when I do, I HAVE to give him a huge blush."
And I did.
