With Meiko becoming sleepy with each passing second from the hypnosis, Kaito decides to make his move. Becoming thirsty for blood awakens a primal, vampiric instinct inside of him. He throws his arms around Meiko's waist and begins to slowly fasten his hold on her to force the huntress' blood to pump into her head... And make drinking her blood all the more easier. He grabs her arm to feel the amount of blood pressure as well.
Becoming impatient, Kaito tightens his grip, which weakens Meiko's trance slightly as evidenced by her labored breathing. His eyes now blood-red and his voice becoming guttural like a person possessed by a demon, he roars, "SHE IS MINE!!!"

Before lunging at her neck, sinking his fangs into Meiko's neck... From his mouth's gums behind the fangs, pin-sized organic tendrils emerge to suck up the blood like a hypothermic needle. At the same time, Kaito also uses his tongue and lips to suck the blood.

After a minute, the former huntress' hypnotic trance ends - Making Meiko plead for Kaito to release her. The voice of his mate is enough to bring Kaito to his senses before he can reduce Meiko to a withered husk. With the blood and Vitamin D from Meiko's body turning the pigmentation of his skin to a more natural flesh color, he treats his beloved's bite wounds. He tearfully apologizes for letting his primal instincts take hold of him.

And Kaito stays by her side from that moment onward, knowing full well that she would become a vampress in a matter of days... To help her control those instincts and learn how to adapt to her new life.

In this world of mine, vampires need blood not only to sustain themselves but to also acquire Vitamin D. Because unlike humans, whose flesh when darker becomes more prone to sunburns, their skin becomes resistant to it. And with it, they become less vulnerable to the sun's ultraviolet rays. Hence, one way of ensuring vampires' survival...
