Because honestly what I'm seeing is "the new cartoons are absolute shit, and the people who enjoy the new cartoons are treating older cartoons like crap in order to defend their liking of the new cartoons, while the older cartoons look on at the shitshow that is to come." But that's just my interpretation. Could be wrong.

Without old cartoons, new cartoons wouldn't even exist, that's how time works.
The creators don't make new shows for nothing, they need ideas, inspiration and influence from past works in order to create.

THIS. I completely agree. No new cartoon (or story in general at this point) is completely original. There are always some topics used in/ inspired from the older toons. Old toons deserve some respect.

Fucking same, dude. Its like... man, be happy for the old shows and be happy the new shows are happening too. What you don't think that the former generations also took issue with Adventure Time hitting the spotlight? Every generation has new shows and it will always spark controversy from people unwilling to accept change. And old shows keep getting looked down upon in an effort to justify liking the new shows.
Gimme a freaking break, they're kids cartoons y'all shouldn't be getting this infuriated and obsessively toxic over whats meant to be positive entertainment.

The problem is though that the new shows really are bad. Like, from a technical and storytelling standpoint they are just, bad. I'm not going to say that every older show is always better (I used to actually LIKE the Mighty Ducks cartoon) but some of the newer shows we're seeing in the cartoon space really are just are not up to the bar set by older cartoon series.

Oh, I agree. Seems entertainment is only getting progressively worse instead of better (generally speaking). MLP: FiM/MLP: EqG was one of the few recent bright spots in the industry, IMHO. That I'm not sure on because the studio that was doing the current Equestria Girls stuff confirmed Hasbro officially told them to close up shop on the property not long after announcing Season 9 would be the last season of the mainline show.
