Description
My AD&D group is near a point where the game might transition and another player would take on some of the DM duties meaning I would be a player for at least part of the game. I would use a variation of my story character who would have some helpers (he can have a lot more, but only a few would have a decent chance of surviving a dungeon expedition).Sterling is my character, he's a human and starting out his class is sha'ir (a wizard that gains spells from a small elemental related to djinni called a gen), after he manages to level up he will take on the role of priest and wild mage (traditional wizard but uses risky magic with a 1 in 20 chance of causing random effects when a spell is cast).
Zephina (tiny over his shoulder) is Sterling's gen, she actually goes out and gets the spells for him, she can get low level spells in a few rounds, high level spells in a couple hours, and even priest spells but that takes several hours. She can also fly continuously and beckon real Djinni to come meet with Sterling.
Varni (red hair, white and green outfit) is a follower/bodyguard, while she looks innocent and perhaps even naΓ―ve she is a weretiger and quite capable in close combat in addition to being immune to normal weapons.
Little Fox (blonde, black and red armor) is actually a treant, in her natural form she looks like a 14 ft tall oak tree but she is polymorphed to look human when traveling in urban areas, she can animate and control other trees and is powerful in her natural form but rather limited in the human form (the transformation is from Sterling/Zephina and not a natural ability).
Sylvia (dark hair, red, white, and black outfit with thighs showing) is a djinni also in disguise as a human, she negotiates a contract with Sterling which os temporary (101 days) during which she serves him in exchange for status back on the elemental plane of air, while she is quite powerful Sterling stipulates that she not engage in combat and instead shift back to the plane of air when a situation seems too dangerous (it is bad ettiquette to get a djinni in your service killed and he would rather not risk her in combat) While not serving as a combatant she does act as an advisor as well as providing magically created food, wine, and finery (often clothing, but can make other ornate items as long as they are organic and not metal).
Since no one else has made characters yet I'm not certain what they will end up with, but since the rules allow for a werecreature protector (saved the lives of a couple players in the last campaign) there will mostl likely be a couple more of them (only werebears and weretigers - the werebear is tougher but the weretiger damages opponents faster).
While I was trying to correct a minor posing error I accidentally loaded up anther set of characters, so I left them and did more renders. In game making the doubles would require illusion magic like mirror image or more elaborate creations like simulacrum (powerful but fragile copies of the original).
