Opening scene of my current story start (probably won't finish it, never have yet, but it's still fun to work on) has my main character, Sterling, in an ancient Sumerian temple having already lost his clothes, possessions, magic enchantments, and even much of his mental and physical prowess. He retains some divine magic, but it trapped within my dimensional barriers. He escapes (it's just one short scene) and finds that the loss of property included that which wasn't with him as well (his accounts have been cleaned out and his house burned down with his other possessions inside).
