When and how did you get started in Cosplay?

When my brother took my first convention my early teens.I would always see these people (cosplayers) dress up. I became more and more into costumes with Halloween and renaissance festivals.

What was your first Cosplay?

My 1st major cosplay is Darth Maul

What was the most difficult character? Most difficult costume would be Egil my Viking shaman/ my most complex to put on is my shadow god costume which was a child hood nightmare

What characters are you planning and type of character are you drawn to?

I’m really more into the darker characters of anything, reason being is they are often Mis understood, they also have the cooler looks and styles.

I’m in the process of a necromancer, and the grinch, jim Carrey version

What is your process when starting from the beginning with a new cosplay?

I look for inspiration via YouTube, music videos, games, Pinterest, I like certain parts in costumes and will go full on to write back stories to add to it, i then go as far as figuring the characters movements, speech, if it’s a movie I’ll watch it on repeat to get the mannerisms down. Once I dress as that character I become a method actor

Are there any helpful hints in sewing, costume design or any other aspects of your cosplay that you discovered in doing your creations?

Here’s the thing, you are going to mess up, mistakes happen, you’ll be screaming at the machine, you’ll be up long long nights and hours, no one is a pro at first.

Another thing is funds: we all aren’t rich I always suggest make a version 1 of that costume. Like the basic and you add on to that.

Layers make the difference

Be patient with yourself. Watch tutorials. Make mistakes and learn. You’ll be a champion in no time.

Do you have a preferred brand of makeup in your cosplay? And if so why?

It depend on the costume, but usually I per masks due to easier to take off and on

What are you listening to?

For right now I listen to a variety, from Viking workout music, to metal to classic, sometimes I’ll pop in some Mozart to clear the mind

Favorite Movies?

There is a lot of movies but I prefer horror, specially when it’s NOT CGI

Favorite Animes?

Demon slayer

Favorite TV Shows?

There is a lot I think right now I’m watching a lot of baking shows, to watching classic cartoons it really depends on the mood

Is there a scene from an anime, cartoon, movie or tv show that left a big impression on you and what was it?

I would say seeing anything inspiring, like specially from contestants cheering each other on. Being absolute supportive of each other is what’s needed in this world. There is far too much hate in this world.

Is there something not going on in the cosplay world that you would want to see or is there something you would want to change?

Here’s the deal: support each other no matter what size they are. No matter what size you are as long as YOU are happy then do it. Don’t let someone else squish your squee.

What was your favorite toy growing up?

Teenage mutant ninja turtles

Who is your biggest character crush and why?

To many to name

You enter a warehouse. There is little light, but you are able to find your way around. The sound of music draws you to a corner of the warehouse. There are FIVE GHOUL CLOWNS, playing a dancing video game. They have razor sharp teeth and scary weapons. Magic can not affect them; they sense your presence and turn facing you. They run to you to attack. Time to fight! What character would you want to be to defeat them and how would you handle the situation?

Night king for sure: he controls the dead so pretty much have his minions do it for him

If you had to be chained with a character for one year, what would be the character and what would you do?

Honestly I would think yoda. So much knowledge they could share and I’m a personal fan of yoda

You can have dinner with your favorite character. And at this dinner you may ask one question. Who would be the character and what would be your one question?

I would think palpatine: did you find the way to cheat death?

What advice would you give to people getting started in Cosplay?

Remember everyone starts from somewhere

Make mistakes, get messy, learn.
