When and how did you get started in Cosplay?
Officially november 2014, but I was interested in cosplay much earlier. For many months I cosplayed only as Lara Croft, because I love the character and the games. When I decided to cosplay, the choice was obvious to me. There was an opportunity to be like the character who inspired me for years!
What was your first Cosplay?
Lara Croft from Tomb Raider (2013).
What was the most difficult character?
Yennefer from The Witcher. When I decided to make the cosplay I didn't know anything about sewing! It took me a lot of time and effort, but I did it! I have an individual approach to every character. Every element can be difficult to do, if you don't know how to do it, whether it's a holster for Lara Croft (I'm learning to work with leather) or a jacket for Yennefer with many details.
What characters are you planning for the future and type of character are you drawn to?
I'm currently working on cosplay of Vault Dweller (female) from Fallout 4. Other day I want to cosplay as Emily Kaldwin from Dishonored II. I love ambitious, courageous female characters!
What is your process when starting from the begining with a new cosplay?
I try to find as much images and information about constructing the costume as I can. I analyze it and make a list of every little detail of the costume.
Are there any helpful hints in sewing, costume design or any other aspects of your cosplay that you discovered in doing your creations?
I use tailor's chalk or masking tape to drawing or marking lines, I tack everything before sewing, to know that everything is well matched! If you don't know how to do an element, go back to it later!
Do you have a preferred brand of make up in your cosplay? And if so why?
Kryolan. Especially Collodion for characterization and F/X Blood for visual effects. Kryolan have an influence on the film, theater and television industries for over 70 years!
What are you listening to?
I adore music from movies and video games. Especially from The Witcher.
Favorite Movies?
Movies with Indiana Jones.
Favorite Animes?
I don't watch anime.
Favorite TV Shows?
Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead
Is there a scene from a anime, cartoon, movie or tv show that left a big impression on you and what was it?
The Walking Dead, the final episode of fourth season. The confrontation between Rick and the leader of a gang of thugs.. when Ricks bites out Joe's throat!
Books?
The Walking Dead novels, The Witcher novels
Games?
Gothic, Fallout, Hitman, The Last Of Us, The Walking Dead, The Witcher, Tomb Raider, Uncharted
Beverage?
Cider, honey wine, orange juice.
Fast Food/ Junk Food of choice?
Only healthy food!
Candy bar?
I love chocooolate! Especially with nuts and nougat, but if I had to choose a favorite chocolate... it would be Milka with oreo!
Favorite Breakfast cereal?
Muesli with fruits.
Is there something not going on in the cosplay world that you would want to see or is there something you would want to change?
Judgement. If you want to cosplay as a character that looks nothing like you, do it! There is too much judgement on look, that in many cases can't be changed. It's all about having fun!
What was your favorite toy growing up?
Teddy beaaars!
Who is your biggest character crush and why?
Geralt from The Witcher. A witcher, a monster hunter who has been genetically altered through magic and mutagens, with extraordinary abilities. Known by many names like The White Wolf or Gwynbleidd. An cynical, intriguing character. It's my favorite male character of any video game!
You enter a warehouse. There is little light, but you are able to find your way around. The sound of music draws you to a corner of the warehouse. There are FIVE GHOUL CLOWNS, playing a dancing video game. They have razor sharp teeth and scary weapons. Magic can not affect them; they sense your presence and turn facing you. They run to you to attack. Time to fight! What character would you want to be to defeat them and how would you handle the situation?
Ghouls... like feral ghouls from Fallout 4? I love to fist ghouls as my female Vault Dweller with my Power Fist!
If you had to be chained with a character for one year, what would be the character and what would you do?
Nick Valentine from Fallout 4. An intriguing character full of wisecracks. He can break your heart with just a few words. Life is full of mysteries, especially for a detective... it's time for a new case!
You can have dinner with your favorite character. And at this dinner you may ask one question. Who would be the character and what would be your one question?
Nathan Drake from Uncharted. I want to know what is it like to be a treasure hunter!
What's number 1 on your bucket list? (Something you want to do before you leave the planet).
I want to become a hero!
What advice would you give to people getting started in Cosplay?
Don't be afraid to try. Ask for advices. Look at it as an opportunity to learn new things! Have fun!
