I was passing by and thought I might correct you a bit:
Jews founded Israel, after some people in UN agreed, despite all people who did not want it to happen. Jews knew that on the next day there will be a war for independence and for a right to have a country, a home, where others would not try to kill them like they did for centuries...

We were afraid to have the UN too.
Because when we have the UN in, we might have terrorist attacks on civilians raging, and the borders are open for killers and terrorists to enter. The UN won't do anything to stop them, and other countries claim meanwhile, that we have no right for self protection...
Now, show me one other country that would tolerate terror within it's borders?!
Besides Israel is not that big, we have only 7 million people, including Palestine. Why anyone should even care? It's half population of Moscow (Russia) - one capital city, and the whole territory is like 2 Moscows, you can pass it by car in 2.5 hours from east to west and in 5 from north to south!
What is 7 million of people and one tiny country, in the world of 7 milliards and more than other 200 countries?!

That's true. The strange thing of course is that Israel gives and gives, and the Hamas takes and takes, and still the "international observers" want Israel to give more whereas the terrorist organizations can do whatever they want.
I still don't understand the whole matter of why the world has decided that Israel is now its favorite target. They did the same to us back in the day, sponsoring terrorists and simultaneously claiming to be "impartial".

The borders we have, were raised to stop terrorists from coming, because nothing else worked! And those borders are effective.
We tried to give them a country at least 5 times in the last decade, but the problem is, that they want it ALL or nothing. Which is not real, we are here, we are alive, and we have no other place to go too - the Holocaust and the great pogrom in Asian Arab countries in the 60-ties, and other persecutions during the centuries in different regions prove it!
Besides the Palestine people know how to do only 4 things, which shows that they are not ready to have a country as people: They know how to work in crops - which is good, and to raise sheep - which is good too, to build houses where their eyes can spot a suitable place - which is not so good, since it lacks proper environmental planning and legal confirmation and the last but not the least, they ace in Terror industry. Actually the whole Gaza strip is mobilized to this cause. The civilians started to hate this but Hammas won't let go, so the Hammas have them as captives and try to terrorize Israelis, as their main cause for existence, their agenda is destruction of Israel and of it's people and almost everyone in the world support this agenda, by supporting Hammas. They don't care about the Bedouins, Druze and Arab communities that co-exist with Jews, they want to kill us all, they claim that "their brothers" who chose co-existence are traitors?!
If there was no terror, there would not be any borders and blockades. And everybody don't seem to get it! Uf.
I tell you what, 3 religions tried to claim this city during the last 2000 years, but only the fanatics are ready to destroy a whole world for taking it to their hands, every way of action is good according to their beliefs, they would like to kill the Christians on the way as they symbolize the civilized world.
There is one thing they seem to miss, all they know to do is destroy, but Jerusalem would be just a pile of ancient rocks if the Israelis won't rebuild and reconstruct the city! besides this city is not that big, comparing to modern capitals, it has population of 2 million people - Arab and Israeli.
More than that if those people would not be so stubborn and fixed on the idea of killing, and would live in peace, they could tour in Israel and visit their sacred places as much as they want!
Go figure. This is the part of human nature that I hate. I hate the hate and blind cruelty, falsification and politics. All of these cause only trouble to everyone.

Oh, they had all kinds of tall tales to tell about the evil evil South Africans. And that's fine, I agree our old government wasn't 100% good. But our enemies were terrorists, like Nelson Mandela who was the leader of a terror cell which planted bombs in train stations and shopping malls. But the media tried to make it look like Mandela was in prison for being black, or something. But if you really look at how it was, there were at that time more black millionaires in South Africa, than in the rest of Africa put together.
Same with Israel. The international media keeps trying to make it look like Israel is racist or something. And there have been one or two military operations Israel launched that didn't go well and resulted in too many civilian deaths, and all the rest of it. But Israel's enemies are terrorists, not Arabs or Muslims. And the fact is that people of all backgrounds can do well for themselves in Israel if they abide by the law. Compare this to Islamic countries, where you have a very bad fate if you are a "dhimmi".
In fact South Africa and Israel's situations were so similar back then that we remained allies with Israel longer than anyone else. All our allies betrayed us eventually, of course. Especially if you look at the Europeans and the Americans, our "Allies" in World War 1 and 2 and in Korea, who then turned around and embargoed us and sponsored the terrorists instead.
Both the Israel of today and the old South Africa are/were not 100% ideal, of course we make mistakes. But if people understood who our enemies are then they wouldn't blame us as much. It's unrealistic to expect everything to go well and without any mistakes if your enemy uses terror tactics and then hides among civilians.
What's even more stupid is how the world can see that when Israel gave Gaza independence, it began sending terrorists into Israel, ... and the international media called it "apartheid" because Israel didn't throw open the borders and invite the terrorists to come kill as many people as they want. But now these same people are expecting that if Israel gives the West Bank independence, suddenly there will be peace?! That's crazy! If Israel gives away any more land, it will be suicide! The Islamists / Arab Nationalists have said so many times that their goal in life is to wipe Israel off the map. How can people be so stupid as to expect peace, as long as genocide remains the terrorists' goal? Impossible!

Finally someone understands the whole picture! Everything you said is 100% correct (especially the Israeli part, since I hardly know anything about south Africa, but I understand what you mean).
More than that, they call us inhuman while we give those people electricity, clean water, gas, and fuel - on our expenses. I mean the Israeli civilians pay taxes, so those people could have those things! How is that inhuman?!
They send us killers while we give them life and causes of existence!
And the old and nice tactics of using civilians as human shields is so common out there, that it is nearly impossible to hurt none, while fighting those terrorists:
Here are some Examples:
They build weapon storages under living houses, schools, hospitals, kindergartens.
Another example, while the last Israeli operation in Gaza the Hammas wired all school in bombs and held there Palestine civilians as to hook our soldiers - so they would think that there are hiding terrorists, which some were indeed there, preventing the civilians leave and make the whole building to explode on them, btw, this school was donated by the UN.
Or blaming Israel for enormous explosions each time, when in their storages some moron made a mistake while building a bomb and made the whole block of buildings to go boom.
Or sending kids to scout, since they know that Israeli soldier will never shoot a kid while they don't care killing Israeli kids and babies, they don't mind their own kids dying in the process they will do EVERYTHING to give a "GOOD" show. More than that, the more they kill Israeli children and other people - the more they are proud and give candies for other Palestine kids as celebration of successful terror attack.
Or taking and blockading their Gaza hospital, and not letting severely hurt or ill people to get medical and professional help in Israel - as Israel abides to international rules for medical help and gives it to hundreds of people from hostile countries as well from the peaceful ones. Since the only qualified centers in the region are all gathered in Israel, build by Jews and their supporters.
The Hammas even killed their own people for that cause, while preventing them to get medical help in Israel, and whom they blamed? Israeli soldiers and others, riiiight.
And the list of their crimes against humanity goes on and on, why do you think the civilians started to try to protest?! Do you know how fast hammas make these demonstrations quite? Within less than a hour, using live bullets shot at their own civilians, and whom will they blame for that? Let me guess - Israeli provocations! I would laugh at it as a bad black-humoured joke, if people around the world would not believe that bullshit!
So here you have some of the true news in Israeli region, I mean they are not really new, and they repeat all the time, from occasion to occasion, but I bet, you heard none of it in CNN or in any other channel.
Oh, wait, here another one, jews have Purim and thenw kids dress in funny dresses as favourite heroes like spider-man, Moses and such, some of the Christians have Halloween where kids dress in multiple funny costumes as well - and Palestine kids dress in suicide bombers, with actual guns and bombs attached to their bodies, even 3 or 4 year old babies, and into terrorists. Nice education, don't you think?
They don't value human life, none human life - not theirs not anybody else, I am not mentioning ours, so not to make you laugh. They would kill or take hostage anyone who dares to come into the strip.

Yes - it's amazing how little value these people place on human life. And how Israel provides them with everything they need, and still they complain. I even heard a story about how, when Gaza received independence, the Jewish inhabitants who left would leave all their greenhouses and gardens and so on intact and unharvested so that the Gazans will have something to eat, but when they came along, they broke and burned these gifts because they hate the Jews so much. That's ... very stupid.
What is even stranger is how the international media is so eager to swallow every story Hamas tells them, even though it's a well-known fact that they are habitual liars. They will give a "peaceful" speech in English but add in a few comments in Arabic that change the whole meaning of the speech. And everyone actually knows this, but they pretend it's not true.
And all the "international observers" such as the UN have a clear anti-Israel agenda. I'm ashamed to say that Goldstone, with his "unbiased" report, is from South Africa. And of course our current government is big friends with the Hamas and with Iran, because they were all terrorists together during the Cold War. We're not actively helping them as far as I know, but we use our UN votes to protect them
Funnily enough I get most of my news about the whole situation in Israel from Al-Jazeera ... and they spend most of their time trying to make Israel look like the bad guys. But it's easy enough to see through their smoke screen

Leaving Gaza strip was a very painful process in our society. I served in the army during that time, and if I would have to make those people leave their homes, I am not sure I would be able to obey such an order... I would never agree to banish a Jew from his/ her legally built home. There is no chance I'll do what Nazis did for my family branches during the holocaust!
Many soldiers cried, many civilians cried, many protested against such a move, Some officers dissobeyed orders and lost their ranks for that, actually some of them even helped to hold the ground, while the government claimed that they wanted to save more lives of our soldiers who defend our borders from terrorists... Some thought we will have a civil war because of this! And what for?! Many of our people died to gain our borders and independence during the past wars, and those things are just given away over nothing in return, but more violence and missiles shot over our cities... On it's peak, only in Sderot could fall 30 to 50 missiles per day, for 8 years! The whole city looks like a huge Bunker! The missiles also reached Ashkelon, Ashdod and Beer-Sheva! Whats next?! Tel-Aviv? Jerusalem?! And then they blame us for the military operation we carried out in Gaza to stop these terror attacks?!
Goldstone report is bullshit. Show me one modern country who will allow violent and illegal penetration of it's internationally declared borders?! Those ships did not have permission, nor only "humanitarian" help was on them.
By the way did you hear about the kind rockets and missiles, (guns, bullets, granates and so on and so forth) Iran sent once for Gaza? Like Palestine kids need rockets, they'll eat them for breakfast?! I am happy we confiscated it all.
It is quite clear that many try to provoke more violence in the region, while claiming otherwise... Try to make a new war to start, and frankly I think it is only a matter of time before everyone will declare Lynch and new genocide over my country and people... When I saw fragments from this new serial on El-Jazira about the IDF (Israeli defense forces) I felt a great disgust. I wander how it can be broadcasted, and why those people are not in jail for spreading hate and lies about our nation, our country, our army?!
The problem starts when people see what they only want to see, and believe those ugly lies... And you are a rare person to see beyond... Most of people swallow that hate gladly and add oil and fuel to the fire.

And ja... personally I'm far too young to have been directly involved in the old South Africa, but I do get very frustrated at times with the obvious propaganda that is spread, even now. It's like the old National Party government was completely evil, and the ANC terrorists could do no wrong. The NP's every mistake is rehashed so many times, but nobody ever mentions all the terrible deeds of the ANC. It's very one sided. Sure, apartheid was bad in its own ways and I'm not defending that. But there's far more to this whole history than the popular (and very distorted) retellings of it make it seem.

I don't understand much of the issues you describe, but I think I got the general idea, I am afraid I know very little about your region.
I might be old enough to get involved, but I don't want to.
I don't like politics for what people do with them, by them, and change because of them, they cause a lot of trouble and suffering.
I prefer to create art, and write my books. Also, I hope that one day, at least for some people who will read my creations, it will make a change and make them be better persons, we definitely need more of those...
I loved that video and the song too. It seems that the soldiers in every country look the same, they remind me of our IDF soldiers.
I was a soldier too, 4 years ago for 2 years. I did not fight nor did anything heroic, but I had an important job. Many girls do, the majority of our youth go to the army at the age of 18. that's why we are still alive and having a country.
We were helping to protect our borders from terrorists to get through. For me, my service was not easy, despite the fact I did not have to fight in actual fight or be on the field.
