Description
This is the legendary Kraken. Unable to keep in the park due to its massive size and almost scary intelligence, it is instead left in its natural habitat in the icy northern waters in and around the uk and Greenland. It is a massive creature reaching almost 80 feet long and weighing anywhere from 40-60,000 pounds. While it more closely resembles and behaves like an octopus, it’s actually a lot more closely related to cuttlefish, and like cuttlefish, they are super predators that use the color changing chromatophores in their skin to their ultimate effect by being in an almost constant state of completely black to match the inky darkness of the deep ocean habitat it lives in. It is unknown what it preys on due to how hard it is to observe it in the cold and crushing depths of the northern seas it calls home, though it is assumed that it preys on small to medium sized marine mammals such as seals and juvenile whales, as well as large fish. It is a terrifyingly stealthy predator, able to melt into the darkness without a trace, only visible when light is shone down upon it. For some reason when exposed to bright light they start flashing white stripes across their body. It is unknown why they do this, as it would expose them to any kind of potential prey in the area, as well as potential predators, whatever they may be. That’s all we can know about these reclusive predators, since they live in such a difficult environment.
