Claire Danes in graphite. This was kinda weird for me to draw because of the eyes and how they were mostly hidded. The left side and the right seem to be contrasting, like I subconciously used two different styles, rough on hte left side and smooth on the right side. I think I'm getting better at the hair, hopefully. I guess I'm progressing nicely, but nowhere near where I want to be. Opinions?Related content

I just love this. If you had it in print, I'd buy it. I love the pose/position of her face, it really shows her beauty and you captured it very impressively. It truly looks like a photograph, and a damn good one at that. Stunning.

well this has material to be one of your best works ever, but as you wanted opinions here comes:
you used different styles in the eyes yes, and that shows = not good. the left is darker... also the, umm, jaw is kinda weird from the right side, beside the mouth...
the hair loks very nice, i don't know how it's ben before but here i like it a lot. also the general style of this, the lightnes, is great, lots of potential

You're one hell of a portrait artist. do you copy these from magazines or photos etc? excellent use of negative space, to accentuate her face and hair. I think the eyes look awesome.

Great work as usual! Great job shading the skin, very soft. The face looks a minor bit at a wrong angle, or that could possibly be the picture that you used. Great stuff though!!!

This is the reason why you are on my devwatch.
It is simply incredibly the way you draw, your style, and the result is unique. I can spot a ~control drawing a mile away. And this is no exception. The motive is perfect, and the perfectly good use of contrast and shading is amazing. I like the way it focuses on the eyes, and the empty sight. Maybe she is looking at her self, admiring her beauty. Well, it does not matter. It is however a great drawing, and show pure skill.

how long does it take to finish a drawing.. let's say this one... I love the tones on the skin (and the fact that it soo looks like her... almost all of your "models" are very well captured.. ever considered drawing men? ) do you draw aditional guidelines.. for symmetry and proportion.. or you just look and draw?
